well gabber is dutch hardcore, and is much darker, and evil sounding, then uk hardcore.. it has hard, distorted kickdrums, and ranges from around 140 bpm to over 300 bpm

Gabber is going 300 km/h in the wrong lane while you're on fire. So if that ever happens to you say "I'm a GAAABBBBBAAAAAA!! AHHHH!!!"

Oh, and it also means "friend" or "hooligan" in Dutch slang.

Wow, lots of topics about gabber lately :)

Though most gabber comes from the Netherlands, it's not dutch per say, since some foreign artists like Omar Santana, Marc Acardipane and Armageddon Project make gabber too... Gabber is nothing new by the way, it's already around since 1991/1992.

hmmm, it's kinda hard to classify it IMO. to me theres a big difference between Dutch Hardcore and Dutch Gabber. The hardcore is still very hard and dark but it doesn't have the same evil presence as gabber. Gabber tends to have a more marching kind of beat to it and high pitched screeching samples that is very rarely found in hardcore. you can compare the songs " Ultimate sex track" and something like "Alienator - Cause & Panic" wherein Casue &panic is the gabber for those who don't know.

^^ it's really hard to define "gabber" that way, considering how wide and varied it's become as a base genre. It'd be like trying to come up with a definition for "house" that is as accurate for hard-house as it is for acid-house.

I sort of agree cos I personally consider ' Now is the Time' and 'Steamtrain' to be gabber and not hardcore

Your into the sound of Rebellion
