i maybe look into selling mine on ebay and puttin money towards some of the rp8's
im not after anything that is louder, the 6" ones are deffinatly loud enough, its just their isnt a very defined bassline for mixing
how much do you think i could get for my speaker if i were to sell them? they are about 3 month old and in immaculate cond, got original boxes too

@ Jaxon, you shouldn't have a problem using RP6's for bedroom monitoring! I don't use mine for mixing there just connected to my computer but I know they would be fine. I wouldn't waste your money upgrading to 8's they will have better bass response but you shouldn't need it...

im just a bit pissed off cause my mate has just paid £200 for some 8" m audio monitors and the bass is awsome, and ive paid an extra £100 and got a lot less bass and lots of mid and highs.
do you not think there will be a big differance? maybe the reason his have really good bass is becasue the mid and highs were sacrificed?

Thing is you have a set of studio monitors which are ment to be flat. It sounds like you want the kind of sound your more likely to get out of a set of decent mission home stereo speakers or something. Some studio monitors (such as your friends) may give off more bass but this isn't really an indication there good monitors, if there giving off more bass than yours but aren't louder there probably not flat which can give you problems when your producing.
TBH mate if your looking for more bass why not just buy a sub?

the m-audio ones are definatly a lot louder, but they arnt as good a quality mid and top range. id say they probably are better for mixing but i wanted something i could produce with too,
i got the krk because they were supposed to be a good for mixing and producing. im not really after really loud bass, just something that stands out. i looked at the krk sub but it was like £200 ish and i expect its goin to put out some stupid ammount of noise. if i got £350 for the ones i have now id only have to put £125 towards the 8" model and the bass wouldnt be stupidly loud, and id be able to mix at lower volume's.
its winding me up really cause i dont want to spend anymore money than i already have

Hmm don't know what your best bet is then. I don't have any suggestions that wont cost you money so I'm stumped ;). You wont get £350 for your KRK's BTW :P.
IMO you shouldn't be having problems mixing with them anyway... A heavy bass is not important for monitoring, (the bass from the 6's is more than enough) much more important to have good clear mid and treble. Maybe ya gettin deaf mate ;).
