 |  Posted - 2009/07/31 :  02:31:50       I made a very short (7 min) mix on virtual DJ. Since it's my first mix, I thought I'd share it.

 Please be brutally honest and give me tips on improvement. I'm aware that the people saying they liked it aren't DJs, so their comments are much less important.

 Thanks.

 PS: It seems to be skipping a lot when it's not on HQ, so you should probably just use HQ

 Haha well at least I got a good tune selection. If my ebay sale actually goes through (5th time relisting, ends in 6 hours, 4 watchers), then I'll have enough to get the Gemini CDMP-6000 so I can finally make legit mixes.

 edit: Why is the quality better on some songs but bad on others? Did you download some of them or do virtual dj's just render in a horrible quality?

 If your going to mess around with DJ software + pirated music, make mixes for yourself to listen to and learn the basics. I wounldn't post it ANYWHERE because most of the time (98% i would say) people do it to get their name out there. I.E. promote, gain fans, impress, etc...

 This mix is now on the web and viewable by everyone in the world, do you really want your first impression to all your fans to be somthing you admittedly say you pirated? But w/e, the pirated music aside, like Fingaz said no one can really give you any contructive criticism because there's really nothing there to criticise. Get my drift?

 If your looking for genuine feedback, you first need to put in some effort and create a genuine mix - Legitly yours in other words. Your skill and hardwork on the tables, with music you purchased with hardwork. Whether it's good or not, if people feel your mix is a genuine expression of your love for music, they will feel it through your music.

 well its needless to say that pirating music and using the poorest software fake dj's can buy isn't exactly going to win brownie points...

 keep at the mixing, but use decks, or if u must use a pc to mix, get deckadance.

 i dont like youtube mixes..

 mp3s = music...
 youtube = motion images!!!!
 imo its really that simple :)

 unless of course you can see the DJ mixing! which in that case thats cool and enjoyable (for a little while) - but im still not going to sit there with a browser window open, just to listen to a mix.

 Given what he's said about pirating tracks and ripping tracks off youtube (lol, of all the things to put in a mix) i very much doubt he bought the VDJ software.

 After reading the replies to this thread i won't even bother listening to the mix. Get some decks, BUY your tunes and, for the love of god when you have done all of that, do not put the mix in youtube video format! Full length (80 minutes or so) set.
