Um.. I wouldn't have wasted $500 on software if you haven't even started making songs in the first place. You should try it out on cheaper programs to see if you like it before blowing all of that money.

I got Reason a while back. I can make some decent stuff with it, but am still figuring everything out on it. Good luck with it.

Reason is confusing. But if you ever used an old sound board with all that stuff on it, it is like that in a way. Reason looks so confusing when you get it firsted opened and there is that song already loaded into it and your like, wtf is this? But once you start a new project it is like OH! it isn't so bad. hope to hear some stuff from you after saying to make stuff all weekend long. I am working on some stuff right now, it is house as of this moment because I had a house beat laying around my computer for quite some time and I am learning now how to make good beats. But I am using FL 5, program is so good. But I am going to upgrade to Reason once I get the hang of making music.

Im using pro-tools at college at the minute, but it only works on Mac's i think. Its a really good programme but its nowhere near as user friendly as cubase. Id recommend using cubase and using reason as a plug-in.

Pro tools can be used on macs and PCs. but useless unless you have a serparate computer for just pro tools it just isn't worth it. We have it at my college too but we just use it for mixing, mastering, and recording but i am not even in audio engineering so I don't get use it much. And I prefer to mix and master on a real mix board anyway, I found it more fun that way.
