I've put off getting a proper turntable setup for a while so I need you guy's advice.
I'm a student so money is a huge restraint but I need 2 vinyl decks, mixer and amp all to link up to my CD decks.
Any advice on what brand, spec etc taking into account my severe lack of funds?
I figure I can spend about 250-350pounds.
I'm still just a beginner so nuffin too advanced.

Save more mohoney, have no social life, and get better equipment.

i was afraid someone would say that...already sacrificing my social life enough, dont think my girlfriend will like the idea of no Sky, so looks like i'll be going 2nd hand.

If you get a shitty set up, you will want to upgrade at some point.
Buy shitty set up - sell it for next to nothing second hand because no one wants a shitty second hand setup - then save more for better set up
Or..
Save mohoney - but good second hand setup - when you want to sell you wont loose to much of your money as most people want good setups.

XD I to am starting to become a DJ. My money is so restricted I have to go to a DJ'ing school to have them pay for my equipment. Good luck to you though B.C. ^^v

I'm by no means a real expert so.. you can take my advice with a grain of salt
anyways, for around 350 pounds (guessing thats somewhere near 700 dollars?) I got a pair of Numark tt-200's and a Numark DM950 with all the happy cables and some decent Stanton carts and those snazzy Sony MDR-V700 headphones. Its been good setup to me so far though the carts are a bit skippy and I'll probably have to get new ones soon. Not sure how much of a diff there is between technics and tt-200's so.. maybe Im really missing out on a lot heh. if youre really strapped Id say go for a relatively cheap mixer since its cheaper to upgrade those than tables. Anyways, good luck to you.

Go to www.wwbw.com they got full dj setup packages selling for around $300-$500 which is very cheap. Go to the site, click dj gear, then dj packages. very good deals there.

Actually no, the equipment is pretty decent. But remember the topic here is "cheap setup". Check out the newmark setup. I tried playing on those and they work great. Only thing is the motor is slightly weaker than preferable.

go the newsagents an get a copy of buy and sell/ads for free, and look in there, sometimes u get technics goin dirt cheap, sometimes full setups with records for next to nothing ... always worth a try like
other wise keep saving
