i'm thinking of buying a new PC from PC Specialist.co.uk
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight Core CPU (3.7GHz-4.35GHz/20MB CACHE/AM4)
Motherboard: ASUS? PRIME A320M-K: Micro-ATX, AM4, USB 3.0, 6GB/s
Memory: 16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 2400MHz (2 x 8GB)
Graphics Card: 2GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1050
due to money i can't afford a 1080 but i can always upgrade later but thought maybe someone could point me in the right direction on anything i can change etc

Unless you're interested in playing the newest game right now, you could always go for a cheaper g-card or use the built-in one until you got enough money for a better card.

this is mainly going to be used for emulation and video editing i was told the CPU was more important for emulation which is why i went for the best available
i'll most likely upgrade my GFX card within a year but it's much more powerful than my FX3400 & GTX960 i currently have
i'm sure i'd be able to run most games at 1080p with most settings at high

I would change the ram for something faster. AMD Ryzen benefits from faster ram.

Depends on the emulation. If it's game emulation, anything newer than N64/Playstation 1 really needs a graphic card

i'm guessing 3000Mhz would be more beneficial for my CPU?

see, this is why you ask people things :) i was always under the impression emulation was mostly CPU based with graphics cards helping out a little

been wanting to upgrade myself, but getting 45-ish on Dark Souls 3 (and hopefully Sekiro too) on mid settings with a Nvidia 950 is enough for me.

One way would be if your monitor has a headphone out you could get a small mixer and mix the channels together in to the headset. Unless it's USB. Other than that I don't know. Although I would love if the next gen consoles have a seperate audio output that's not optical.

I second this. I have my whole computer/production setup going through a mixer.
