The mixer shouldn't make a difference. If all you need it for is combining the PS4 and PC outputs, any mixer with at least two stereo inputs should do. The Behringer Xenyx 1002 line is pretty cheap. You can probably find one used for $50.

The problem is the PS4 doesn't have analog outputs. If your TV/stereo doesn't have an auxiliary output, that means you'll need something to extract the audio from hdmi or from the optical output and convert to analog outputs. Something like one of these:

https://www.amazon.com/Digital-Coverter-Extreme-Optical-TOSlink/dp/B00BVT4M30/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=toslink+to+rca+audio&qid=1560060390&s=electronics&sr=1-4

https://www.amazon.com/J-Tech-Digital-Premium-Extractor-Converter/dp/B00BIQER0E/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=hdmi+audio+extractor&qid=1560060623&s=electronics&sr=1-3

Finally, do you have the PC aand PS4 plugged into the same wall outlet? If not, you could end up with a 50 Hz buzz (60 Hz in USA) due to a ground loop. If that happens, you'll need a ground loop isolator on one of the signal lines before the mixer.

I'd rather spend those 999 USD on the stand than actually getting a Mac

Id wait for the new AMD processors that are coming next month or something. Also AMD's upcoming GPU's are said to be cheaper then Nvidias, but we'll know next month if it was all hype. But if you're going with Nvidia, also check their 1660 cards. You can compare products there:
https://www.userbenchmark.com

The GPU upgrade to 1050 is not worth it, IMO:
https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-960-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1050/3165vs3650

I personally use a 7 year old i5 CPU, and it works just fine, most games need more a powerful GPU, rather then CPU.
