Doesn't affect you if you BUY your music does it?
Illegally downloading music is just as bad as shoplifting as far as i'm concerned. There might be a case for downloading stuff that is unavailable to buy, but that won't be much more than some bootlegs and home made tunes/mixes.
Personally, I won't be worried about a knock on my door!

i only use p2p's to promote my own tunes, and even at that, they arent the full tunes, glad to see the RIAA are doin something about p2p's, cant the ppl who use them see that d/l music is ruining the industry

I personally dislike downloading music... I feel that it robs someone of the experience of owning an album/record/mix and moreso, robs the artist who released it in a much more literal meaning. There is a time and a place for it, i.e. unreleased tracks, promos, self made material, etc... but for most people I know, that's not the case. They download entire CD's, and talk about how CD's are SOoOo expensive... hmmm, wonder why?
the only place where I find that this might end up biting our particular group in the butt, is with the concept of the mix tape. There are already enough problems with people putting out mixes with unauthorized unreleased tracks as it is, but if/when the authorities start to crack down on the tracks we use in our mixes, it may soon be very expensive to put out a demo.

Good idea, but its going to be a big hastle too. Tracking down users is going to be tough. I know for a fact that isp companys dont like giving out the ip adress of a user. Thus the ip allows anyone to track where the user is. (this is dumbed down so i dont go into a 3 page essay on it) The supena is going to get cought up in court and its going to take a while. They are going to look for the biggest of all the people out there, but then agian many of thouse people could be international. Its a good idea and its going to take money and work. But the only part i thing is kinda out of there minds is $150,000 per file? Hmm, i think some one is getting greedy agian.

If piracy isn't stopped or slowed at it's current rate the only CD's for sale will the the best of the 80's CD's cause they are aimed an older crowd...

Can't c dis been successful in the long run, n all i can say that p2p users will just harden up to squelch the RIAA out with firewalls, encryption, etc...
