ones i currently have

i'm a big kid at heart, i'll be seeing about getting either this or this in the near future hopefully but a lot of money would help :D

The original blacktron were better IMO. Anyway, it's all about the Space Police.

I received both kinds of LEGO's: complex buildings which I built straight as shown in the instructions manuals plus the standard known cubes to create my own stuff.

That was how I grew up as well, but at the age of 3 I quickly switched to LEGO, because I found Duplo was way too borning. For both of my nephews it's not the matter of age, but the oldest one is turning 5 in October, but he can't handle any small kind of frustation at all and I know how he treats his toys. He's not ready yet to play with it. And my youngest nephew today tries to copy his older brother in his behaviour. He's 2 1/2 now!

Must be from 1991? Slightly before my time, never really went too much towards Space but had some Ice Planet 2002 & Space Police 2 sets. Got a Blacktron set as a rerelease in a bag as part of a special with other small sets, think I even got a UFO set from 1997. For me it was Pirates until 96 and then more of a Town, real world builder from then onwards

I won't let my 2 year old have duplo, it's rubbish. I'm starting him on the strong stuff early and skipping the rubbish phase.

I wouldn't let my kids have duplo either, most parents should know that they'll grow out of it very very quickly and be onto the harder stuff in no time at all.

The moment your child learns not to try and eat non-edible items is the moment your child is ready for Lego! :P

Never too old to stand on lego bricks with painful consequences though.

The best thing about lego was that you could build whatever the hell you liked. Or like, if you still have lego.

Hell, I chewed on LEGO into my early tens... mostly because it was easier that way to remove the smaller parts :P
