Now I have received the confirmation of my suspicion: I was born to late!
Big thanks to the America for killing the rave culture of Europe with your shitty Grunge, R&B, Hip-Hop & MTV. And today they're doing it again. It's called: Dubstep, Electro, (Pseudo-)R&B & Dancehall.
The only positive point I so far have registered from over there is the Kandi-scene, but even their PLUR-roots are based to rave feelings of the early 90's from here: Love, Peace & Unity.
Man, I just remember all the disgusts I was faced to while living over there for two years and confessing I was listening to electronic music.

Well, you have America to thank for electronic music at all as that's where it started. So you are probably even.

http://www.gridface.com/features/an_electronic_dance_music_timeline.html Nuh uh, this isnt true!! Everyone knows EDM music was created when Scott Brown invented the kick drum in the 1970s! See, Wikipedia says so! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Brown_(DJ)#Early_career

http://www.gridface.com/features/an_electronic_dance_music_timeline.html Did electronic music died after 1991? It just looks like IDM killed it from the end of the timeline.

The Americans think they started EDM but the British started Hardcore although The Dutch would love to argue that. I think it was also Belgium who had alot to do with early Hardcore as well

I am aware about the roots of electronic music, but what happened over there? Luxury clubs for a losy snobbish public, door stewards, dress code, expensive drinks, etc.
This sounds very far away from being a rave (and I think this why this thread started). Let's be honest: the roots of rave culture lie in the U. K. and in Australia.
