I've been to a camping parte, New Years, went over three days, up the North Coast ( from Sydney). Had a good time, but, they didn't play happyhard all the time.

quote: And about the glowstix situation honestly its outa hand people wave them around looking like there trying to land a plane, I am considering banning them at this event yes, Im not a hitler raver, if we're gonna do it old school, lets do it old school.
you're contradicting yourself.... you said you wanted to take it back to the time were people weren't inhibited and could do whatever they want, and then you propose banning glowsticks?
your concepts are great but i think your method is a bit lacking. try and draw up a plan of what your goals are and how you think you can achieve it - maybe set a few deadlines?? i'm happy to help out some if you want, just e-mail me.
drugs is not the answer... drugs? is the question... yes is the answer

Hey there all,
Some of you really need English lessons, check your dictionary for meanings before writing down shit and making yourself look like complete dicks!
By the way, there will be a website coming soon that will handle all chats as it will include a forum, I'll be admin, you write any of this shit and wasting time like you have here they will be deleted. I’m sick of you people saying stuff, when I’m the only one whose willing to actually do something, The glowstix thing was a figure of speech, but I suppose some of you give yourselves too much credit when it comes to interpreting the actual meaning.
Pacifiers, glowstix, whistles, bibs, what ever. Do what you want; I’m just trying to indicate that the scene has lost a lot of its unwritten laws (utopian concept) to aesthetic ****ing icons (mentioned above). I have received many email, there are more people who agree then disagree, good. These people understand what I’m after and understand some times its hard to say things without people getting the wrong idea but still get the over all gist. Its like this do any of you remember that scene in Human Traffic, when they're sitting on the lounge at TOM TOM's (I think its called) and they say

Actually it's you who's looking like a dick, making very poor use of language and then backpedalling when you realise that people on this board are perceptive enough to pick you up on it. Watch where you're pointing that finger of yours, buddy ...

Heaven forbid that anybody have a contrary opinion to you, Mr Doppelstah. How dare they? Don't they know who you are? Don't they realise that it's your scene, and that they're only here by invitation? The bastards!

^^ Please explain *which* dialect of English would interpret this as a figure of speech, Mr English Professor.

... and somehow, by holding this party, you're gonna bring it all back and remind people of what they meant in the first place, thereby rendering them redundant as icons and bringing the collective mentality of the rave scene from the artifact focus to a deeper understanding of the tau-consciousness that was once generated by our shared hedonism, but has since been forgotten with the overwhelming rise in significance of the materialistic tendencies of the mainstream. Right. I think you're giving yourself too much credit. Good luck with the party, though.
Reminder: this is an open forum. If you want an overwhelmingly agreeable response to everything you say, then stand in front of a mirror and talk to yourself. If you're gonna post inflammatory remarks here, though, then don't go all cry-baby when someone disagrees.
Oh BTW it's generally not a good idea to assume you're smarter than everyone else. You're not, not by a long-shot.

Mr. Strychnine,
You seem to have a lot to say. There is so much more that I can say but this forum isnt an essay competition. Let me point out a few flaws and allow me to prove that I dont think Im smarter than everyone. I DO NO THINK I AM SMARTER THAN EVERYONE, IT IS TRUE I AM NOT, LET ME MAKE THAT CLEAR NOW. Fine. Done. Proven, right out of the horses mouth. But allow me to prove I am smarter than YOU.
Do you even know what dialect means you stupid shit??? Dialect is the sound or accent that is applied to words that are used in some areas but not others. For example Irish people and English people or Australian an English people, when we speak it sounds different to them as we are speaking the same language, however the sound is different due to the variety of accents.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dialect does not interpret meanings or sub-meanings or even connotations, its purely interpreting sound Mr. Strychnine.
Don’t get technical with me, you don’t know my background, I am not the smartest person in the world, but you have proven I am smarter than you.
I can really sit here for hours picking flaws in your didactic speech, but let’s just focus on the last part of your speech.

I think you failed to read the quote, did I or did I not say.... '"Do what you want"' how do you get words like "rendering" "[I've given myself] too much credit" when I said '" just trying to indicate "'. TRYing to indicate, I’m not dictating.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By the way learn how to spell first before you go around correcting people!!! (ie. artifact) its artefact :)
Oh ok lets be kids and do the whole “you said this”, “oh but no you said that”, that you seem to be so good at;

Practice what you preach, don’t try and scare me with your words, I’m not scared- I'll just make you eat them, Go **** yourself strychnine, get off your computer, and do something constructive. All I wanted to do was create an event that we old school ravers could enjoy, without the commercialism ******** that comes along with it these days, and the wankers that its attracted, like you.
I know your probably write something back, but then this will turn into Happyhardcore.com's hottest forum, because you'll be bitching about everything I say, You know what I've Learnt, It really DOES take the bigger person to walk away, Write what you want because in my eyes (and since what you write will be directed at me) I wont care, I haven’t written this because I do care, I wrote this because, I wanted to make a point, replying to anything more that you say would have made this pointless, now wouldn’t it? It would indicate nothing more than a war with words, I'm over it, I'm over you. Since your all about the SPIRIT of the rave scene and feel as though I’m poising that spirit, the spirit would say to put this to rest, Peace to you, Love to the scene, Unity amongst us, and Respect to all fellow ravers and ravettes.
Please note to all: Nothing I said was meant to intentionally hurt or insult anyone, sometimes you find something that you love... the way it is. No matter how hard you try you just want to bring it back, and what if you could? That was my dream, for one night, and only one night.

LOL ... way to moderate, silver!
Okay, let's try this again without any of the animosity and minus the Year 10 English debates and name-calling and so-on ...
Doppelstah, how do you reconcile the concept of freedom that you want your party to represent with such seemingly draconian measures as banning glowsticks?

The glowstix will not be banned, they just make it that much more commercial, I mean hey their dark and need to 'snapped' in order for them to 'glow'. So if people walk in with them and 'activate' them when inside (or outside, havent got to that point yet) im not going to walk over to them and take them away am I???
As I said express yourself as freely as you like and use whatever means you need to to do this.
I just want the night to be special, Look there are no guidelines, no criteria that needs to be met!
I really want to get to the juice of this though. Can you (strychnine) and anyone else reading this topic offer anything?? dont ask me 'What do you want?' Just think of a rave and what its elements are, do you possess any of these or do you know someone else who is willing to help out?
The date so far looks to be 18 January, the website will be launched next week, so lets start uniting and creating.
Cheers
Doppelstah.

^^ can you see how this is somewhat different in tone to what you were saying initially? Had you said this earlier instead of telling us (me?) to f** off then we wouldn't have had this argument *sigh*
As for suggestions and whatnot, what kinda arena/genre arrangement are you gonna have? If you're having a chill-out room or something then I could maybe rustle up some psy spinners. No guarantees as of yet, though.

Ok, people need to come down at different times in the night, so a chill out room would be good, yet we'd need to create the scene, I.e. some sort of cushioning (bean bags perhaps?, some one could volunteer to sew up material and maybe someone else works some place where they have access to a type of soft filling, not necessarily beans, it could be anything)- this is what I’m talking about.
Genre, Basically old school to break it down we'll say pre 96 and post 1990, I could be wrong but I feel the best shit was made here, any suggestions let me know. Oh umm also happy hardcore, and hardcore, techno is a little hard to define these days, I had a chat with a few good knowledgeable friends about techno, I asked 'define techno' then we found the line is too thin to delineate between trance, techno, (just basically electronica). So umm anything that reminisces that old school feel, I won’t post up the tracks online, I want some to be a surprise. Ok from here on in I wana see offers, Lets do this!
I'll be organising the venue, Dj's, sound, and what ever else comes my way.
hope to hear from all of you soon, I can see that a lot of you are reading but not contributing, all I can say is if you love something, you try and make it work, although we've had our fallouts myself and strychnine seem to be the only ones who do care, as well as my fellow organizer and luke mccabe.
lets do this one for our sub-culture.
Cheers
