Yeah maybe I was being a bit pushy there. Wasn't mean't to be in anyway (it read differently in my head) :P
Just a suggestion. It's good that he's attempted it anyway. You never know unless you try.
If you ever want to go that route I would be happy to learn you what I know and teach you things. There is lots of tutorials online helping people out now a days. There is a guy called Kev Willow who puts guides on how to make decent stuff on youtube. He actually did a tutorial on the process of making a hardcore song. Very good for learning if that's the style your in to :)

So you're judging him completely based on how he discovered the music (which he had no control over)
No offense, but.. what the heck? Why don't you say you hate him because he's Danish? Makes about as much sense.
Did anyone here ever once just stop and say "Hey, there's a lot better than Rankin. Check this guy out."
I started my rave taste with Rankin and much much Nightcore And I still browse through some Nightcore searching for new choons (ain't that big of a problem finding out artist names).
I started my rave taste with dj cammy back in 2oo6.. But i had no idea about music that time.. It was first in 2009, i started djin & knowing what cammy did... I have no problem with browing nightcore since all my mates on skype is nightcore uploaders... But it is hard to find other 'dj rankin' djs today.. ;)

That's because real uk hardcore isn't what DJ Rankin had made. What he did was blatantly transforming lush hardcore masterpieces into total hardcore bollox with all the nonsensical acapella banging all over the place, which somehow is an insult to the original artist. Same goes to nightcore and cammy.
It's time to snap out of this eight grader's syndrome of DJ Rankin hardcore bollox mate.
And I've never heard of PCDJ in that definition, what PCDJ meant to me was more of DJ's who use software mixers like Virtual DJ and Traktor to mix proper dance tracks...

Hard to find rankin dj's? ever tried bebo.co.uk? :P
Going off topic here, but I think I dedicated one of my mixes to DJcammy once. Either that, or was just an assie guy who in the called himself cammy. Either way he got banned from the chat because of it :P

PCDJ's will never use Virtual DJ, and no matter what u say. PCDJ's will never do dj rankin style..
Pcdjs use Acid pro 7 or Mixcraft 6. And they always ultraloopin or megamixing.
If a pcdj uses Virtual DJ and makes dj rankin music.. He won't be respected through the pcdj community.

I'm a PC DJ, I use VDJ, no acapellas, and I daresay I'm pretty good.

No i completely agreed. It is absolutely ridiculous to judge someone by what they listen to. Like you said it's comparable to disliking them because of their nationality imo.

I have one, but I actually don't really like using it. Makes it cluttered.

PCDJ is a term of people who makes mixes on their computer.. But in beginning of 2005 in scottland people used the word as term of people who mixes a'capellas on a track that they didnt produce. However, they are some way mixin' acapellas together or loopin them and beatmatchin so they actually sound good and talented way.

Maybe some people in Scotland use this term... but nobody else does. Everyone here uses the term PCDJ to mean.. a PC, DJ. If you use that term you'll just confuse people and discredit "real" PCDJs.

It's kinda hard taken you serious when you just said "PCDJ" and "scottish people" in the same line :/
The description you gave us, is the same as what Shades just said
quote: if it's some one that key matches sung acapella's to different tracks instrumental.... then your a mash up artist
That's what you actually do... well mashup is more taken parts from different songs (mainly vocals) and add it to another track.
I've actually done that once. On VirtualDJ too (so it's not all crap :P)!!! I did it for a mix of mine, but I can't remember if I did it before mixing, or on the fly.
