This. My current, rather uninformed, appraisal of the situation is that Storm's coming off looking like a much bigger dick than Sy here.

It's certainly not built on Christians beliefs. It was not uncommon throughout Christendom (and the Islamic world) for children to be wed to men and the marriage consummated. In fact, the age of consent in Vatican City is still only 12 years old.

I generally subscribe to the rational thought process that none of this should have been aired publicly unless there was clear evidence to support Storm/Keyes' claims. Clearly, Sy has been a bit silly, possibly even slightly creepy (if the laptop in the garage thing is true), but even if he is a bit of a perv, that doesn't make him a kiddy fiddler.
However, I can absolutely understand WHY Storm has done what he's done. He's a reactionary and emotive guy, who clearly believes that he's doing the right thing. I just happen to disagree with that position.
It should have stayed between the group of promoters who Carl was emailing so they could quietly remove him from their events. Sure, punters would've sussed something was wrong after a couple of months, but at least it would've bought them time to either A) source conclusive evidence that Sy is infact on the list, or B) had clear the air talks, worked out the best course of action moving forwards and taken it from there.
I also agree with a couple of the posters above that it should be Carl providing evidence, not Sy. Carl has made the accusations, and having read all of the posts and statements he's made, there is nothing solid in there at all. It's all a lot of 'he said, she said' with a few emails that confirm some people were talking about it. The only reason Sy needs to clear his name is for the sake of his DJ work, and who's to say he necessarily wants to play for promoters who level these kind of accusations at him? I know I wouldn't.
In summary: this should've been dealt with behind closed doors. You can't go public on something as emotive as this without 100% concrete proof, especially when a man's livelihood and reputation is on the line.
P.S. I know some of that looks like I'm backing Sy here. I'm not at all, there's no smoke without fire after all, but we also live in a society where you're innocent until proven guilty, and at the moment, there isn't any conclusive proof.

Ok so some of you guys think Carl should prove it, I wasn't really getting on the fact that it should infact be Sy but I just think I would have posted something to go against the allegations or added something to the post, stating that he could prove it. Maybe Jay is right tho in saying who knows maybe he is working his ass off to get proof to throw in everyones face but it has been seven days or so since this came to light & no "evidence."
It did make me think when I read that squad-e was told over a year ago & suddenly on a Monday night 12 months or so later he decides to ring Storm & bring this up, not just that but Storm stated Squad-E had rang up other people and told them, WHY after a year??? Is he now dating "Sarah" or what, it doesn't make sense that a whole year or so goes past & you decide to ring all ya artist & promoter mates in the scene and say "You never guess what???". To not even mention it before seems weird...... Is all this to do with royalties from the Quosh Vs Twista imprint??? **** knows but I think its ****ed up!!

I don't think it's worth speculation why Squad-E would sit on this information for a year, but at the same time, I agree, it does seem a little strange.
As for the evidence thing. I would imagine most lawyers would advise him to refrain from posting anything online unless he has to, especially if he's exploring any avenues into defamation of character. I'm sure it'll all come out in the wash eventually, but right now, the onus is on Carl to back up his accusations.

I understand what you're saying as for wanting to get it off your chest... but it's still totally unprofessional, especially as the 'evidence' is just some gossip flying about.
But from what I've read so far it was only a picture/video of some topless 16 year olds. You cannot really compare what Sy has said to raping an under age girl. The severity of the incidents is miles apart. Doesn't mean he's not a bit of a perv, but it's hardly a huge incident.
It should've been handled quietly behind the scenes and if the allegations were true to the extent Storm and co are trying to portray then a statement should've been issued from a neutral source with the evidence to back it up.

Quite a read that but it still doesn't clear much up.
I agree with where Jay's coming from, with Storm airing the dirty laundry in public Sy could be using his limited time more wisely, building himself a concrete defence that may well put this to bed & leave Storm in an nightmare situation.
It could also end the opposite way resulting in the biggest downer ever to hit the scene.
Theres a few things about that Storm statement that don't seem to make sense. I'm not saying he's in the wrong but few things confuse me...
Who in their right mind would continue to live/have a relationship with someone who keeps a secret laptop in the garage? I mean come on, foot fetish!? I've never heard such bollocks in my life! There's no excuse for keeping a laptop secret & wiping it constanly. No sane person wouldn't think that's a little bit suspect & either hang around or look into it further.
Another thing is, why in god's name would a police officer phone Storm? As if the police would even waste their time to contact someone who has absolutely nothing to do with the case in a hope of talking them round. What would the police gain from this? It's not like they care if this brings his carrear to a screetching hault. All they care about is if he is guilty of breaking the law. That's it.
There's so much that doesn't add up on both sides.

Storm thought he was being a Good Samaritan by leaking that Sy was a "peado" and everyone would respect his ego - it's all backfired now
Who the **** does storm think he is? Did u read the bit about storm giving Sy 3 options to clear his name one being a CRB check? What an absolute bellend

Good, now engage the attack at Storm. How sweet. Someone constantly must be tortured and hated. What a lovely society.
Storm just did what he thought was right in too much of a shock to think rationally.
