Wowza..... what a complete mess! Does make sense now about why he never played outside of the country.... here i was thinking he was just afraid of flying which i heard ages ago....
And he doesn't get booked in the US probably because the promoters and ravers here don't have a good clue who he is. Very rarely does UK talent ever get booked in the states, with the exception of the obvious ones like Gammer, Breeze, Styles, and Hixxy.
how can anyone involved in such an intimate scene as hardcore not know who Sy is!?
Its kinda like me saying "I love house but who's Frankie Knuckles?"
Sy's been a major player in the rave scenesince the beggining not to mention a driving force in the re-birth of hardcore 2000+. If your running a hardcore event & have never heard of DJ Sy then you must only be in it to try & make money.

I was exaggerating a bit when I mentioned no one knows who he is. There are ravers and promoters in the US who are very well aware of who he is and his time in the uk/happy hardcore scene. But there is a majority of those who don't or don't care to know. Some scenes, like the Seattle scene, might appreciate him more, but others, especially here in Houston, will not. They wouldn't understand the significance and the impact it should have on our scene to have some UK talent come over here and play.

It doesn't make sense though. The only reason they have any Hardcore to listen to at all is because the likes of DJ Sy. The only logical explanation is as Fire Shadow said, that it's not in there interest to know anything about the scene because they just run the events to either generate money or manage them for someone else.

Tbh I don't consider Sy as a headliner or 'big' producer anymore. He's been way too quiet and his recent productions sound like trash. Not surprised US promoters ignore him
