I'm surprised there hasn't been a topic started on the epic masterpiece that is Skyrim.

Is anyone else as addicted to this game as me?

If you haven't got round to checking this out I strongly suggest you get on it asap. It's been a long time since i've been this caught up in a game. It's certainly up there with the best & no, this is not another World Of Warcraft.

I figured i'd start a topic for fellow Skyrim geeks to update each other on their travels because I can assure you, not one of us on here will be moving through the game the same as each other.

Anyway, whats your character, fighting style, path, fortune, ect...

I'm not going to bother far too much hype... When things get over hyped they are a massive let down well that's what I find anyway ;)

I will stick to FIFA 12, splinter cell conviction & metal gear solid HD collection :) oh and SSX when it comes out :)

i have friends who play it, i dont think it would be my thing though - i've only really just started playing games through steam
only just completed Half Life 2 (and its episodes), Portal and more recently Crysis...

right now my game of choice is "The Ship: Murder Party"

possibly the most addictive least played online multiplayer out there, i'm practically on it every night, others should totally get in on it we could have a hhc.com league :P

I totally agree, the hype was huge but I assure you it's worth a look. Without doubt the best game i've ever played & i've been gaming since the Amiga days...

A few of my mates said the same thing Rowan & now they're just as hooked as me. It's well worth checking out. Sign up to Love Film, get you 2 free months gaming rental then check it out & if you don't like it, no loss

"The Ship: Murder Party"? never heard of it mate but i'll be sure to check it out. I'd like to get into another online multiplayer game other than Halo 3 lol Skyrim doesn't have online which I suppose is good in someways & bad in others.

I played skyrim a ton until my brother showed me dark souls. Haven't gone back to skyrim since.

I hate skyrim for taking me away from all the other games I was playing =P

I went nord class, usually carry heavy everything, had a dog but he died...was too noisey though so maybe it's a good thing. Usually approach everything like a thief

will stop playing for a little bit when twisted metal comes out, then I'm probably going to be putting in a ton of time in tekken x street fighter when that drops next month...

just bought it yesterday. Have had Elderscrolls for a year now. Not even poped it in :P

Don't think I'll like it much. Dark Souls has more of what I want from this genre

I've put over 70 hours into the game (which isn't that much, tbh), and I play a Bosmer Thief. It's fun, but the graphics aren't that great. The texture details when looked up other then 20 feet away look like crap. This has become something of a standard for Bethesda. Looks great from afar!

Also do not get it for the PS3. That is what I originally got it for, and it absolutely ****ing sucks. The programming base they used for the PS3 means the longer you play (and the bigger your save file gets) you start getting unbearable lag, and it crashes at least twice per game session. So I scrapped the shit and got it on Steam for $40.

I've been holding off buying it until I clear all my other recent games as I know it'll be all I play for a while haha. I killed around 300 hours between Oblivion/Fallout3/Fallout NV and DLC for them. :-/

Just got to finish the remake of OOT on the 3DS and I'll get right on it. I want Fallout 4 too though. :(

It sounds like some sort of mile high club spin-off.

haha yeh it ain't half addictive! I went for the dog approach aswell but it kept getting in the way of my swinging battleaxe & well, you get the idea.

I would agree about graphics in certain areas of the game aren't as good as some other new games. However when you consider the scale of the map & gameplay itself I think it still beggars belief that they got it released on the consoles in the first place. I'm guessing the PC version would be a major improvement.

@ The One & Only - Is that right enough, the PS3 saves become larger & larger? It doesn't appear to be the case on Xbox. Thankfully cause i'm struggling with memory space as it is! Will have to tell me mate about this & laugh at him...

If you like OOT this will blow you away mate. I still stand by OOT & MM being my favorite games of all time but Skyrim is certainly giving them a good challenge! Well worth a look...

Nice, I'm sure it'll be right up my street mate, just my sort of game. OOT on the 3DS has had a massive graphics overhaul somehow making it an even better game. 8) Definitely up there with my favourites of all time. Here's some comparison screens i found - http://www.siliconera.com/2011/04/21/lets-compare-the-legend-of-zelda-ocarina-of-time-n64-and-3ds Sure it's no 'The Witcher 2' on the graphics front but they have polished it up nicely without ruining the feel of it and now I can grab a few heart pieces and gold skulltulas in my lunch break ;p. Controls seem smoother as well.

MM was never quite up there for me but was a great game still. I actually prefer SS, WW and TP to that though.

Have you played The Witcher 2 by the way? Bloody amazing game. Looks like it's hitting the 360 soon too if you don't have a gaming PC.

Well the PC version wasn't much of an improvement until they released the High Texture Pack which just recently came out. Plus all the mods that are even available on steam improve lightning, colors, shadows, and character details including face, armor, and weapons.

So yes, it is much better.

It starts out around 3500~KB, then gets bigger as you continue. My save was around 9000ishKB, and at that point in combat or with a lot of NPCs on screen it would lag like crazy.
