Im glad that I got asked permission for this track to be on HP3, especially as its the full version of it....what with the original (and therefore any remixes) being signed to NSR.
Oh wait....I didnt :/

Hmm... X-Cyte did send the remix pack for HP crew, and they asked me to remix this to the album, thats all i know. And im not exactly sure that will this be on mixed or dj friendly version. But yeah, if you dont want this to be on the album its ok, i can ask the guys to take it off! And i can send the full version to you guys if you like.
cheers!

The full version? D-Sharks version was never signed to your label. I personally spoke to x-cyte who wanted to take part in the HP3 album. We take remix packs and people remix them just for the album.
Since everyone was busy doing other remix packs the only 2 people who could remix it was myself and of course d-shark, I wasnt told about it being released on a label, x-cyte's original isnt going on hp3.
As far as im aware there was no permission to be asked for. I was sent it from the man himself for use with the album. Thats all

So if I remix a Katy Perry song and Katy says its ok for me to use on my album then I can? Nope....pretty sure her record label would have the final say as they would own the original and any remixes done. What is the point in a track being signed to a label if then anyone can make a remix of it and release it elsewhere?
I dont mind it going on the HP album at all. Ive been going on HP.org for about 4 years and met alot of friends over there. It would just have been nice to know seen as the original and a remix have already been released on NSR. Im not blaming D-Shark or Sparkz for this either, X-Cyte should have told me he was doing it really.
Either way Im not that fussed cause the track is about 18 months old anyway, like I say Im not blaming you guys its more a frustration of being left out of the loop even though I have a physical contract that signs Safe and Sound to NSR, therefore the legal rights of the track...are ours.
Anyway, best of luck with the album, its a commendable thing you guys are building :) dont want to sound like a d1ck, it can just be frustrating sometimes when I dont know whats going on with tracks.

Yea that does sound fair enough to me mate. I guess it only does happen like that for example if a track is older (i know of "happy hardcore" tracks back in the day released on 1 label, but then 10 years later a remix is done and its put on another label)
Its appreciated, personally I didnt have a clue the original had even been released, I just thought it was something that was made, and perhaps the original was not thought to be good enough so of course we got passed the remix pack to do some versions.
As a goodwill idea ill try and make sure NSR logo is printed on back of cd/free download release and mentioned.

Thats cool, I know theres alot of grey areas and confusion in music and in hardcore even more so due to endless sampling etc etc.
You dont need to stick the NSR logo on there mate, its your project and I dont want us to take any credit/limelight away from you guys over at HP who are working your socks off for it! I have alot of respect for everyone on that site so I hope it works out well!
It was more just me venting a frustration, nothing against you or the album, just in general :)
