^^ but how hard is it to put your own contribution outside the quote? And I'm not being pedantic for the sake of it - there's no point having a good argument or comment or whatever and having no-one able to read it for all the bad formatting

it was an attempt at humour that failed, due partly to the fact that you got so annoyed looking for the damn thing it was kind of hard to see the funny side once you got to it

^^ just cuz it aint Shakespeare you're writing, doesn't mean you don't have to pay attention to making it easily readable. Of course *you* know what you said, but what about the rest of us, who would naturally assume that you wouldn't put *your* contribution into the quote of what *I* said?
