Right before anyone says I shouldn't have done this, yes I agree with you if it was a modern remix but this was just a bit of fun and I got permission from Brisky boi. It's not supposed to be super clean production like you have now I wanted to try and recreate that raw authentic sound from back in the 90's, raw and crunchy like you got with the old samplers and hardware. Like I said , this was a bit of fun to see if I could do it. No remix could ever compare to the original!!!!
If this was serious I'd put a lot more time and effort into it but it's just a bit of fun. Now all I need is a time machine!
Just answering to a question asked below. I did not recieve any parts or samples, midi's from Brisk. I had the vocals myself on my comp and I had sampled the Method Man vocals years ago. All riffs , synths etc was completly recreated by myself :)

Lol i see Brisk even gave you the samples for it too? Certainly sounds like it! Nice work. Ironically while you don't mean for it to be serious, it sounds better than a serious update could (presuming that the style would be different).

I have to say I was never a fan of this track, I always only liked the vocals. The rest always ruined the song for me. Now when I hear a remix I know it's about which remix has the best break with the best vocals for me. I like this one! I also like the Scott Brown one (rest of the song is terrible tho), but yes that's it pretty much.
But it's cool to see someone going "back to the roots", would love to see this with other tracks. Cheers :)

What gives you that idea Samination? Lol.
No man I got nothing from Brisk. I had the vocal anyway and rap samples on my comp that I had sampled from Method Man years ago. All synths, riffs, etc was recreated by myself :)

I've heard a similar mix . It's a freeform take on it and I think it's by another DJ something or other... from a freeform angle.

The only reason i mentioned Brisk having given you the samples by the way is because they sound exactly the same as what he used to use.
