Here in the States, Happy Hardcore ranks pretty low in popularity compared to other genres. However, I think it's due to lack of exposure. The more I turn 'newbies' on to it, they really seem to like it a lot. Still, advertising yourself as a HHC DJ means you have a long battle ahead to get bookings.
I want to know what the acceptance of Happy Hardcore is in your country. No need to be super descriptive, but give us a general idea of how many 'big' raves spin HHC.
BTW, is it just a Las Vegas thing, or do most people in your area call Happy Hardcore "Happycore" now?

Alrighty - im new to these boards so hi to everyone, my names DjSeZ over here [ie: Australia] and i feel pretty passionately about this particular topic.
Now, here in Australia theres little to no happy hardcore fanbase but i think this is for a good reason. Someone one posted a message that said: "Happy Hardcore can be heard only by those who were made to hear it" - thats how i interpreted it anyway and i stand by that forever.
No matter how big or small HHC is in YOUR country, know that the people who like it *LOVE* it and were meant to hear it.
You were made to hear happy hardcore.

I'd say we have a pretty good scene here in Canada, at least in Ontario/parts of Quebec. I live in Ottawa, usually theres at least one Happy Hardcore/Hardcore DJ at our parties. Montreal which is a 2 hour drive away has a much bigger fan base, but thats probably because they are a bigger city too. Then theres Toronto, about 5 hours away from Ottawa. They're pretty much the capital of raves in Canada. There's always some good HHC party goin on every month.

HHC is doing pretty good in Winnipeg ( Manitoba , Canada) we have some great producers coming out now ... we were pretty flooded with just trance and hard house but HHC seems to be coming back again... slowly but surely.
I plan to help it every step of the way!!

the way i see it in England, is it is becomeing big again. its still quite small, but the people into the scene are passionate about it, but there are the masses who will not listen to it because it was called cheasy and crap (when it was never crap, they was listening to the same tunes when the scene exploded). i am happy of how the scene is right now, you have the exposiure, so the scene is growing, but not at a fast rate, which means it will be able to develope into music the true fans like, and not have any of the masses which will piss off again once the scene is "not cool anmore"

HHC has always been big on the Underground in England. It's popularity has incresed since it's beginnings in 92'. There are plenty of events (although we could do with some more in the Nort-East) and new talent coming thru. Hardcore is all over the UK, FACT.
=) 'ardcore!

HARDCORE in Minneapolis (minnesota) is underground. But the scene is ready for it.............it used to be all pop trance up here but now its slowly going back to the funkier, more breakbeat beats (bear with me).So i see it as a responsability to all hhc djs everywhere to reprezent to the fullest of there abilities!!!
