imo without a doubt the best cd decks are the pioneer cdj1000 Mk3,
the only others that come close are the denon S3500 or the technics SLDZ1200
all of the above are around £600 each, if you do decide to buy any i would strongly advise the you go for the pioneer ones, in my opinon they are easily the best and also there the industry standard!!

Cheers for the response mate, have seen the Pioneer ones which do look the best, do the Denon's and Technic's models you mentioned have the emulated scratching feature....?
Because i've noticed there are some decks that dont have this feature and i'm guessing that is why they are so much cheaper!
Best start Savin' teh pennys if its gna cost me £600 EACH DECK

Why not just get Serato Scratch Live?
http://www.scratchlive.net/ Keep your turntables. Play MP3s and CDs on Vinyl. THERE'S ALSO A SECRET AREA WHERE YOU CAN PLAY PONG ON YOUR TURNTABLES

Agreed. The SLDZ1200 was a huge disappointment on all fronts.

I currently own 2 Denon DN-S3500 and I think they are great tables. Scratching sounds clean and non-digitalized. You can't really use the spindled to beat match like you would on vinyl but you it allows you to use the platter as a pitch adjust (like the Pioneers) an it has pitch + - buttons that work great as well. It also comes with effects : Filter (High, Mid and Low), Echo, Flanger, Brake, Dump and Reverse. You can also Loop and it has a built in sampler which you can use while a song is play and scratch your sample from sampler over it. Pioneers are great as well, you can pick up a set of 800 MKII for around the same price as the Denon's but I think the Denons offer more for the money!!! I definatley would not go for the Technics. When using the key lock feature and scratching it sounds very digital!!!!
So my advise is to go with either the Denons or Pioneer.

http://www.htfr.com/watermark/index.php?catno=MR194090 Technical Specifications Pair of front loading cd decks Cd/cdr/cdrw/sd/mp3 compatable +/- 6, 10, 16 & 100% pitch range Instant start time Lcd display showing track, time elapsed and remaining in numeric and bar form, with pitch reading and pitch mode, playback mode Track structure wave display Cd text support Folder search 150mm jog wheel with nonslip finish and improved led interface Track search buttons (jog wheel function) 3 hot cue buttons Key control (master tempo) Anti shock Bpm counter Looping function with loop in/out edit 3 hot loops (instant loop recall) Vinyl emulation jog wheel with user sensitivity adjust Gold plated rca outputs Digital output 220/240v operation Removeable media card for cue point/loop storage Sd card compatable for point storage Memory point play (continues play from point of accdental ejection) Legato link conversion Product Review The pioneer genes are clear in the cdj-1000mk3. Subtle revisions add more intuition, make it easier to transport music, and improve track info: refinements that make cueing, looping, scratching and stretching a track easier than ever. Full mp3 support including vbr files, intelligent features, such as the direct folder search button, allow djs to quickly access files within folders on the disc for intuitive, fast cueing. A total wide tempo range (+70% to 100%) also gives greater control than many competitor models. Along with multimedia cards, sd cards are now also compatible with the cdj-1000mk3 so that hot cues, hot loop points and wave display data can be easily stored and loaded. The cdj-1000mk3 includes a unique jog feeling adjust (to the top right of the jog wheel). It tailors the deck to performers' individual styles by altering the resistance of the wheel, which benefits from a new metallic 'non-slip' finish. The track display has advanced. Its resolution has been doubled, the lighting is multicolour and fluorescent and, as well as displaying the total number of tracks and track position, the wave data and playing address details are extended so that a dj can see a track's entire length at a glance. Hot cue is now partnered by a new hot loop feature that stores up to three loops per track, so hot mixing and levels of creativity excel beyond any existing precedent. In keeping with the high quality components of the cdj-1000mk3, gold rca connectors are fitted along with a digital out for connection to digital mixers such as the djm-800 / djm-1000, ensuring the highest level of sonic purity available. Pioneer continues to define the mark for digital dj'ing: a level that has again been raised by listening to and acting on feedback from djs. The cdj1000mk3 is far more than a dj cd player, its an instrument of dj evolution. courtest of http://www.htfr.com/more-info/MR194090

denon S3500 ARE THE way to go they have every thing you could need at a good price~ and they are sturdy (i have not broken mine yet and I break every thing). They are very much like playing on a turntable~
Technic's are a pain they don't display the track name unless it is mp3 best I can tell ~ but maybe I was doing something wrong when I played on them ~
