go into volume control
options
properties
"adjust volume for.." select recording
tick all boxes
ok
for my pc i have it set to stereo mix, thats the one that records anything that would come through your speakers, inc windows noises so be careful.
ur best bet is to just look for stereo mix, if it isnt there try them all till it works, you might have to fiddle around with the volume control aswell cause you sometimes have to have it turned right down to stop it distorting

Cheers but yeah I've tried all that... Nothing happens :( Soz prob. should have gone into more detail.
*edit*
There seems to be four outputs:
x Phono left
x phono right
x ?
x headphones
Is it something to do with that third output? Can't see how it could be but... Or am I using the wrong outputs to record from maybe I think these are for fitting surround sound too. Haven't bothered to venture round the back of my TV yet I assumed these were suitable.

The outputs on the front of your tv are most likley inputs not outputs. Does your tv run through your stereo atall? If so then you can use the output from your stereo.
Is your cable going into your line in socket in your laptop? If so you have to make sure that line in is selected as your recording device in the sound and audio devices properties.

is the 3rd one yellow by any chance? if it is then that is the video input, and like mortis says the others will be audio input.
you will need to get a jack to phono cable and use the headphone socket

Cheers guys I don't know nout about TV's the input thing would explain it... What do you want a sound/video input (besides scart) for on your TV?
Sounds like I'll need a double jack then as my laptop soundcard is just a jack input. Damn don't have one :( Trip to the shops it is.
Sound like you were a strange kid DMS ;).

Aye, thing is with that show, the Bike had a virtical boost on it. Shot the guy miles into the air...but no direction, must have been one hell of a sore ass on landing.
