was having a spy at new 1210s and look at the difference!!!

uk price! - http://www.djdeals.co.uk/prod-details.asp?AID=285
us price! - http://1200s.com/Shop/product_info.php?cPath=3_98_99&products_id=558

is that right?

i checked on a currency convertor and us ones worked out at £492.81 for a pair...thats mega cheap as far as i know??

also while im on the subject...

i know technics are the standard, and everyone maybe with the exception of steve-o will say 1210s,but i think ttxs look so kool....

am well gona have to buy em second hand,as am skint, but might aswell get the best then ill never have to buy another set.... (hopefully)

Last time I checked the 1200/1210's here were runnning about $439 a piece. The caveat is that those were export models that did not have a US warranty and came with selectable 120/240 Volt power and had a funny plug and adapters so we can plug 'em in here. Not an issue for you since you have funny receptacles to plug them into:)

A real US 1200/1210 with a US warranty was running almost $600 when I bought my export models a few years ago. Too pricey for my blood. I can buy a lot of records with the difference in price and if they break (not likely) I can fix them myself.

Besides, the currency conversion works havily in your favor now anyway. The only thing you'd have to worry about is any excess cargo charges the airline would charge if your friend brought them back via air transport and any import taxes or duties your government would asses you.

If you do buy in the US, three very good dealers I have had good experiences with are Guitar Center (chain store), Abbracadabra (www.idjnow.com), and Armand's in Philadelphia, PA.

Good Luck,

P.S. !Get the Technics! They are *THE* standard for a reason. They work right, they feel right, they sound right, and they're tough like a machine tool. They also hold they're resale value very well. And should you ever need service or parts - they're available everywhere.
