I started H.S. yesterday and it f*cking suxs. I hate it!
On the first day there were already "clichs." Well maybe they weren't clichs, they were just groups of people who knew each other already. But still! And like the people that are nice they're just so...boring and not really the type of people I want to be friends and hangout with! It was my second day today. It was a just a little better but then you started realizing this is it. This is the school that I'm going to in for 4 more years with these people that just aren't my type or just totall bitches! I nearly started crying today and told my mom that I wanted to transfer! I'm really hoping it gets better! Eventually people make friends right??
Anyways, today I was like 15 minutes late for school. I took the train that normally is supposed to stop at the last stop in the city but for some reason it went all the way to Brooklyn! So I was looking at the window and in my head I was thinking, how come the train is coming out from underground? And then I was like, ...how...come the city is all the way over there!? So I quickly asked some one, "Is..is this train going to Brooklyn!?" And she was like yeah, pacific street! =O I was like shit! And started getting all choked up. Cause I didn't know where the hell I was and I knew I was going to be late for m 2nd day of school! Finally, I got back to Manhattan but then know one knew the street that I was looking for was! Damn! That was a rough morning!!

no worries squish...you dont know it now but those will be the funnest four years of your life.
and what else did you expect about the "cliques"? Their all just as scared/nervous/timid/ as you are. That will naturally happen when your in unfamiliar territory. That train thing sounds like it sucked but at least now you know...:-)

...They're not nervous or anything because they're with their friends. I'd be way much better off if I had atleast one of my friends with me or like someone I knew.

Give it a few weeks.. it always takes time to make new friends when you don't know anyone.. just be friendly to people and they'll do the same in return.

every time the teachers say the word junior-high or middle school, i start to get all teary-eyed. i get soo sad. i miss all of my friends and i so wish i was back in my school! i think the kids in high school are meaner. here's what I have to say about them. they're either: snobs, boring, annoying idiots or not cool. of course there aren't any ravers that i've seen. but surely there are those punks wearing all black with blue coloured hair that stare me; but i think that's just because i'm wearing too much colour for them.
ooh and virus, i am extremely friendly to everyone but not physco-friendly or anything. lol
what suxs is that there aren't different people in different classes. so say i'm like in class 9D. everyone in 9D goes to math,global,bio-chemistry, etc all together and like we never see or get to meet and speak to the other 9th graders.
i haven't made any friends cause i don't have anything in common with anyone apparently! and like...what am i going to say to the people that are all alone, like me-f*cking lonely!?
i still don't know what i'm doing attending this school. next week we're going on an overnight trip...i'm nervous as hell about that. though it would be great if they mixed some kids from different classes on the bus or something but i highly doubt that's going to happen. *sighs*
i need some sort of shirt saying something; like...what's up with these "cliques??!" iunno

hey SquishyStar!
sometimes u have to adjust to different environments that don't suit you. you may not be like anyone in your class (that majorly sux0rs about your class system by the way!) but there will be something you can identify with in some people. maybe it comes with sacrificing a little bit of what is important to you, but you get this back once you're tight with people. just don't be afraid to let the old squishy go and do something a bit different ...
good luck with everything! school can be tough, but most of the time it turns out ok.

this is some damn good advice. When i started university i came about 250 miles from home (in the uk thats a lot) first day i made a friend and byt he week we had a click.
But to the point, we labelled almost everyone and didnt talk to them for a year, it was just the 4 of us. In the 2nd year there we started to alking and we were wrong about a few people (some we knew were di**s anyway). But you gotta get out there and be open to different types of people.

Most people have a bad experience at the beginning of high school. Just stick with it, you'll find a group of kids that you get along with well :)

we talked about this a bit before i think, and it sounded like your school was going to be the same sorta thing i went through.
now i thought it was completely shit when i first went coz it was so different and don't let this scare you either but if ur anything like i am (hating those sorta people and thinkin they are all manufactured and the same that sorta thing) then you will soon find out who you like and who you don't; for me the majority i hated but coz of that, there were also a few other people that had that same view, and i have made some of my best mates from there.
the thing is, where i only had a few really close friends there, i could bear quite a lot of the others and talk to them but coz of these few really good mates, we made the best of things together and had some amazing times there.
it won't be as bad as you think just find the people there that are a bit more like u and that you can be good mates with, and your in for a really good time.

it'll get better Squish. I remember (well sort of, lol) when I started high school. I met like 2 people the first two days. We kept meeting new people in our classes (thats a key thing-talk to new people) and before we knew it, we had a huge group of friends.
High school was good times and I was stoned for most of it so my memory gets fuzzy, but just wait till college. Now those are some great memories.
We're the kids in the back talkin' trash in the back of the bus. Come and join us.

It has gotten better, but there're still groups. But that will change, hopefully. Because when I see the 10th and 11th graders I see them with a mix of people that they hang out with so...I mean like, we're not any different from them you know.
The guys are way nicer than the girls there. There's this guy in my Homeroom class and he's in all my other classes too, so like I ALWAYS see him and for some reason we always end up sitting at the same table or something...which is okay cause I sort of know him now because he's one of the first people I met because of our Homeroom class. And today this other guy who's in the same homeroom and in the same classes, that I've never sat next to or anything, came up to me today and was like, Eerica! high five. So I gave him one because I didn't want him or other people to get the impression that I was a snob or something. Then he asked if he could see my Spanish folder...so I was like sure, okay. So then he started reading what I wrote for my homework! And I was like okay..you don't have to see that lol.
cause it was a little personal. but hey, atleast people know who i am and my name. =) Well yeah, so it IS getting better I think.

I'm leaving for this overnight trip ,in just a few, with all the 9th graders of my High School and I'm totally dreading it. I woke up at 5:30 and now(6:08) I'm just eating breakfeast...lol Iye! This trip is going to suck!! -.- I don't know these people! I mean like, here I am going to this overnight trip with these people I have no idea about yet I've never even been to some overnight trip with my friends from Middle School. (that I've known for like 11 yrs!!) Ugh! my g0d. djskvsstr
Just hope me trip isn't too too miserable. xx

squish..you might wanna check with a doctor and see if your have Social Anxiety Disorder or somethin...seems like your afraid of everything.  Growing up means tryin out new things. Even the worst expereinces can make you a stronger/better person in the end.... Chill out kid :-)
