anyone out there still gimme a shout.. heloooooooo anyone out there in canada techno is an aquired and often forgotten genre (real techno)

i think mainly the people that listen to detroit techno are all elitist =P
and what's wrong with acid techno? that stuff owned back in the early 90s...

i never said anything about disliking acid techno but my main concern for discussion is just dirty crunchy techno

early '90's tekno was good, nowadays it's just not the same anymore. Eather it has changed, or my love for hardcore has changed me. Both are possible.

What exactly is Techno? I listen to RMB and Marusha, are they Techno?

I see alot of arguments about this subejec later on! techno is a strange name, happyhardcore is a type of techno, or as some say, hard-techno, but REAL techno is the detroit stuff from joey beltram, you know that track energy flash? techno is dark and futuristic and DOESN'T have to have the 4/4 kickdrum, proper techno is all blippy and bleepy.
and also, 1988 was the birth of "acid house" not acid techno! get your names sorted out! it was acid house which was just an 808 drum machine and other old gear.

hi, i'm earth, have we met?
acid techno is very much a genre and it has been around for quiet sometime...and i said early 90's not late 80's =P
i would consider marusha more "rave" than anything, but did have some good early releases...especially from around the early mayday events...
as far as techno goes, i'd check out richie hawtin/plastikman, hardfloor, chris liberator, the surgeon, and some jeff mills...
and on a side note, evidently breathe doesn't get sarcasim =P
