So I'm looking to build myself a decent music setup at around $500 or so, perhaps more, only problem is I don't really know much about the equipment and I'm terrified of getting the wrong gear.

I do know that I'm going to be listening to a lot of Happy Hardcore and I'd prefer a subwoofer that I can literally feel. It doesn't feel like I'm truly listening unless my body shakes. Back in the day my older brother had a powerful car subwoofer, near the level I'm thinking of.

The option to enable or disable the sub would be nice as well.

Basically looking for clear music and nice beats. Used to be I could research all this stuff at Tweeter... I miss that store.

also, another option is old speakers from the 90's. In my set up i have a pair of dual 10' technics speakers ( too lazy to find out the model) and a pair of cerwin vega dx 7 speakers from around the same era and they sound ABSOLUTELY AMAZING together. I am running them off a pioneer power amp from the 70's so it all sounds very warm.

I gotta disagree on that one mr guest.

Mackie specializes in live sound, they might sound loud but they will not sound accurate at all
