shit looks pretty sweet was anybody here ? lol. vibes & slipmatt interview in there too .
love how it is still the jungley vibe over the 4/4 ; everyone is mad groovin.
reading the comments are a trip. clearly it is not an "underground party" but it looks damn fun.. people in the comments already claiming "rave was dead by 1993 " WTF.
was this party not a good party compared to the other parties at the time? no cell phones anywhere..i NEVER see chicks dancing like in this video ; what the hell happened to that.

I've never actually seen any videos of an oldskool happy hardcore rave before.
Thank you, I had fun watching this and certainly have more of an understanding of the older generations nostalgia.

Before the scene disappeared up it's own ass. By the time I was hitting the clubs the only rave club close to me had closed. I missed out on this kind of event by two years, gutted.
This was my local rave club:

I found a really decent quality video from an older rave here which is worth checking out:
Not the best music choice to represent early UK years of course being an old US release from the Chicago House scene but it's a great video from the time.
There's loads from the earlier years if you look but most of them are terrible quality of course.
Biology @ Clapham Common 1989:
Raindance one from 1990 with some people you may recognise:
People were claiming it was dead by 94ish because most of the big events went legal which changed things. They also made it much harder to run illegal events by introducing section 63 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 (which can be found here - http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1994/33/section/63). That's what my Section 63 track was about of course. ;) Inspired by the police who turn up at parties and say they are invoking the act through megaphones or even from overhead helicopters.
Of course it's rubbish that it died as illegal events ran right through and still run today although they were pushed more underground by the new law. When we were going at the end of 90's through the 2000's sounds systems like Survival, Mission, Storm, Brains Kan, Illicit etc. where putting on some amazing parties.
Unfortunately things have gone to shit in the UK rave scene now and things like this are pretty common:
The blame doesn't lie entirely on the police as some would have you believe either. Lots of tossers started turning up to parties with the sole intention of starting trouble if the police came.
We used to run a sound system in the 2000's along The Ridgeway and a few local barns/fields/warehouses but police started coming down hard on us hours after starting and it become pointless. Thankfully we still have a good local sound system with good followers that keeps things very hush hush and still managed to run some smaller parties with little/no trouble. I think the main problem is things end up all over Facebook where loads of people you don't want there can see it and the police can see it of course.
If you want a real rave experience get yourself to France for the next Frenchtek. Here's some footage from this year:
Hundreds of sound systems turn up from all over Europe.

Certainly looks it. Must have been done my a very professional team at the time I guess, quality is fantastic. Possible it's not I guess but going from the clothes, hair, dancing styles etc. it definitely looks legit.

It looks like it could be extra footage from a recent film or something, the quality for that age is ridiculous!
