I used to blow any loose dust off first, then use a damp cloth or a feather duster for the rest. Always wipe away from any gaps/holes so you don't shove any muck inside.

As long as your keys are fixed, get the hoover on it!

Disassemble as much as you can and use an air compressor or if you don't have one a can of compressed air. That goes for the lappy too. ;) Keep hoovers well away from computers, the static build up can be very bad for them.

I would say it's completly depends on how much static yourself generate. So far i've worked with my own and everyone elses computers for 16 years without any kind of security lines or anything. Just holding the chassi.

I'd rather throw my laptop out of a window when I'm through with it. Would much rather have a desktop!
And yeah cheeky smirk!

Not sure I follow? I'm not talking about static when working in a case. I'm talking about using a hoover to clean PC's. A hoover creates a large static charge at the end of the nozzle and this can be bad news for electronic components.
I don't use a mat/wrist band either, despite my college always telling me to do so. :P Just ground myself against something. Does the same job!

use the hoover on your third leg? That way you get both hands free and static suction :P

how the fuck does a laptop get so fucking dirty???
I've had mine for over 2yrs and it's never looked that dirty, and I have never given it a thorough cleaning before. I'm also not the cleanest person out there, and have a cat that sheds a lot.

It's mainly because it sits in the corner of my room for weeks at a time. It's always on as I have two monitors plugged into it, 2 ext' hard drives etc. I only ever take it out when I go to my Uni library, which happened to be on Sunday. I need to leave it open because it blocks out the wifi signal otherwise :D

I did wonder the same thing. :P Assumed he had been using it outside, somewhere dusty for work or whatever.
