A few years back I posted on here to advertise my self published novel, Discoredia. It was a bit rough around the edges, but the blend of hardcore music and horror seemed to go down well with those that read it.
Since then I've put a lot of work into tidying it up and, ultimately, managed to land myself a publishing contract. The new version was released this week, and if anyone's interested it can be purchased as an eBook from Amazon, with paperbacks to follow later in the year.
As far as I'm aware this was the first, and remains the only, published horror novel set within the hardcore world we all love so much.
To find out more you can check out my website, www.discoredia.weebly.com, or get hold of me on twitter @jcdiscoredia.
Thanks for looking, and if you have any questions, just ask.
James

Congratulations mate! I remember long ago when you originally posted the first draft, great to see something more substantial come from it.

Cheers. It's been a long road, but finally made it.
Core magazine have put together a review, that they'll hopefully post up soon. They liked the way I'd slotted a few hardcore lyrics into the text here and there, and Mark E G was cool about getting a mention and featuring at my fictional event.

It's largely the same, but reads a hell of a lot better after having a professional edit.

By the way, if any of you who did read the original could leave a review on Amazon I'd really appreciate it. The content's the same, this is just a tidied up version.
Reviews sell books, but it's hard to get the reviews without the sales in the first place.

Was going to read this back when you posted before but I never got round to it. Will give it a try when I finish what I'm reading!

Nice one.
What are you reading at present?
I'm ploughing through a stack of e-books my publisher sent out, as he encourages all of his authors to review each other's work. One I'm through those I can tackle Dr. Sleep.

Great idea really. Might get you reading something you would normally miss too.
I'm reading The Evolutionary Void by Peter F Hamilton at the moment. It's the last book in a (sort of) 5 part series that I've had a bit of a marathon with haha. Absolutely fantastic read but it will be nice to have a change of genre next.

That's true, as even though they all fit under the umbrella term of "horror" their recent releases cover quite a broad spectrum.

http://www.amazon.com/Discoredia-J-C-Michael-ebook/dp/B00F8KAHG4 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Discoredia-ebook/dp/B00F8KAHG4 So far the vast majority of reviews have been positive, even amongst those who've never seen the inside of a rave in their lives!
