See, with Alien, the genetic concept was believable, a parasite which takes on some of the hosts DNA to survive in the host's environment. You had face huggers and xenomorphic aliens. A nice cycle. Even after Aliens and the addition of the Queen, it still kinda worked with the whole hive thing, it expanded the concept without killing it.
Prometheus... you have cock snakes with a vagina for a mouth which make super zombies, magic black goo, which if you come into contact with and get your timing perfect and shag your mrs impregnates her with a chest bursting alien, which is also a giant facehugger whale thing?
Oh oh, I forgot the human, not so human pissed off blue alien forefathers. WTF!
If I could have my mine wiped, this and the Matrix sequels would be prime candidates.

Haha, I like a good rant.
Fassbender is brilliant, David is the only fleshed out believable character in film, kinda ironic then that he's a robot. And yes Rapace is delicious. Sci-fi must be realistically unrealistic, it needs some explanation and magic black goo is all a bit Teenage Mutant Turtles.
