I am joyfully looking forward to this as well. The only negative point that will ocure again is that the movie will cut off like 3/4 of the book's storyline.

The book was amazing! (Nerd power!) The movies for the rest of the series was amazing as well, It's great to see that they're making a movie out of The Hobbit to!

I read TLOTR before I watched the movies..very dry, I suppose I should do the same with the hobbit...hopefully its better than the other books lol

I liked the books and The Hobbit was one of my favourite's but if you didn't like the others I can't see you liking it either tbh. :P

Yeah what was that about. They could have made another film with all the stuff they cut probably haha. They missed some good sections too. Shame. Still love them though.

I was just disapointed there was no nudity.

The misses mother was very into the books and movies. I never actually got around to watching or reading any of them.

It was really interesting, reading the book before watching the movie. The travel to the elf village in the book took nearly a month and in the movie it was all about rushing on the back of a horse for 2-3 nights.

Which parody? I only know "Lord of the Weed", but I doubt, they made an English version as well.

It's a much easier read than LotR if that's what you mean. He doesn't spend 3 pages describing the consistency of snow or whatever in that one. I personally have never understood the wankfest surrounding Tolkien, his book have always seemed a bit dull to me, and no depth, unless you count pages upon pages of backstory as depth.
