I'm from the US and i've noticed a lot of the mp3 stores like imodownload and such are all priced in something other than USD. Would it automatically convert to USD? Would there be a fee for doing so? I'm trying to be a good guy and buy music to support the scene. I'm just a little skeptical doing it internationally and itunes has crap for tunes. Save the K12 label.

Depends on stores, most stores charge with their currency (which is a good thing), and your card is charged with the current exchange ratings. You can check the current exchange rate at http://www.x-rates.com If there are any additional fee's, they are charged by your own bank/credit card company. But there are some stores, most notably www.play.com that will change the rating themselves, and the exchange rating they use is not real. Meaning they use one that favoures them. Which means the product costs more then they say on their site, i call this stealing. I'm pretty sure that the mp3 stores you mentioned dont do this, though i'm not sure. PayPal also uses sometimes an exchange rate that favoures them, but the difference is usually pennies, so its no big deal.

A track that's $1.50 gbp usually runs about $2.25 (estimated) in American dollars. When you checkout in Paypal it automatically does the work for you. No need to worry...just $1.50 is $2.25 in our money and thats how much you pay for an individual track.

Forgot to mention there is no fee. Buying internationally means...for example your in another country using your credit card or debit card. Then you will be charged extra by the card provider. But when buying online there's none. That's just the standard monetary unit cuz most stores are based in the UK.

I see. So if I went on imodownload, I could just give them my card number and it would just charge $2.25, or whatever the conversion turns out to be?

not sure on IMO but if they don't convert the $$$ for you, your credit card will. also, might be easier paying thru paypal if u have an acct with them, unless imo charges u for paypal usage.

Credit card converts the pounds into dollars, you can get an idea on the rate at http://www.xe.com or ring your credit card company and get the rate (it changes daily).

I just ordered from Juno download yesterday, and they actually seemed to reduce the price for people from Americas about 10-20% (I'm guessing it has to be VAT). I don't know how many other sites do that. If i chose Finland it upped the price a few euros to ~55e, If i chose US or Canada as my location it reduced the price to ~45e o_O
