Yeah, this is out to you people who are already producing Happy Hard.
1. Think of the ravers. They are your most important asset. You might make the most DJ friendly choon in the world, but if the ravers don't like it - DJ's won't play it. Simple. The demand seems to be for more '96 sounding stuff - give it to them!!!
2. Quality not quantity. This is a bit hard to describe.
3. Lastly think of the DJ's. If its hard(er) to mix it into a set, it won't be played as much, though the ravers love the choon.
Good Luck - have phun!!

4: Ignore 1 thru 3 and produce music you like and really wanna make. Fook everyone one else and how much they like it, produce for yourself and no one else!

The only reason why I disagree with you Soren ,is because, experience has taught me so.
Don't get my wrong, I make music for myself (like my rap, Drum & Bass, Big Beat, etc....) but if you want your stuff on vinyl (this is what I mean by production) then steps 1 - 3 are for you.
I could go into describe the unfortunate state of the music industry (it pains me to say "industry") but I'm sure you wouldn't want anyone to waffle on about that because the flames never end.
But on the whole - I totally agree with you Soren. I guess I should have called the topic: Tips for Selling music.

If Barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends?

ryg0r was giving tips on how to get tunes sold, so he is very right :) You can make any tune you like, but if you really want to get into the scene quickly those are general rules to follow, you need to give people what they want :)

3.5 year old topic..... any more activity and I think it'll crumble. I'd better lock it for its own sake I think :-)
