Good morning everyone! This is DJ MAtRiCks, en direct from Montreal, Hardcore Metropolis!
Here is my latest mix, Mayhem In Dreamland. It contains many of my favorite modern Hardcore hits, as well as some re-imagined classics. The mix has been recorded on turntables in May 2010.

I always HAVE to make a typo somewhere, I can't believe it! I'm glad you pointed it out, I'll change that :) I'll try and fix the next batch of CDs as well...
Thank you for listening to the mix, I really appreciate the feedback!

finally got around to listen.
Nice track selection overall. had to get into the groove at the beginning, though. Very smooth transitions though they could've been a bit more creative since you were using vinyl.
btw, what mixer did you use? my eq'ing is rather chaotic compared to this.

Again, thank you for listening, I appreciate it very much!
I must admit I like to keep the transitions as plain and simple as possible when recording to assure a smooth & clean result. I can see how it may sound predictable to the knowledgeable listener.
I mix on a Pioneer DJM300, it does a fair job for the EQing, although I like to mix on a machine that can kill every EQ channel to the infinite, and not only -26dB. I used to be able to do that on a Numark DXM until the cheap-ass machine broke down :P

I use a vestax pmc-05 proII mixer though It's been a while since I recorded a mix I'm completely happy with on my current setup. Maybe it's the mix of vinyl and cd's or sumthing to do with my needles. I don't know. but the difference in qualities from digital and vinyl drive me nuts in this respect.

I know exactly how you feel man. Don't get me wrong, I love to play on my turntables, the feeling is unbeatable, and it does sound good, but never as crisp and clear as high quality sound files from CD decks... mixing both mediums together and making it sound seamless requires a lot of EQ tweaking and often ensues big headaches... There was a lot of digital material I had intended to use for this mix, but I scraped the idea and went 12' only to save myself the hassle and ensure better consistency of the sound throughout the mix.
I use Shure White Label needles, and they really seem to amplify the low frequencies when I compare to what I had previously recorded with my Shure SC35C. From the original medium to the sound card you're recording through, so many things can have an impact on the final result, it's insane.
