I like it alright! Reminds me of Scott Brown in a way. :) I also like how you handled the snares a bit differently than the usual. My only qualm is that you have three releases and it starts getting repetitive. I would've extended the breakdown and removed the third release, then added a few variations to the melody in the second release.

Not bad though! Especially for your first release!

This is great, man, thanks. Downloaded, burnt to CD and ready for a mix!

I'd definitely pay a few Forints for this!! :-)

Agreed, especially the main lead sound and melody are reminiscent of Scott Brown's earlier tracks, and it doesn't sound bad either, as far as production quality goes. Now on to some detailed constructive criticism... :)

  • Maybe just a matter of taste, but it sounds strange to me in a HHC track, that every note of the bassline sounds a bit different. It's almost a phasing effect, which is unusual for this genre.
  • I like the breakdown at 0:45 with the string & piano chords, the filter buildup around 1:00 is very nice. However, when the break comes in with the LP filter, you could have cut off some of the bass on the break with an EQ, the low thump of the kick sounds out of place.
  • The breakdown at 2:20-2:45 is a bit empty, I would have expected some nice pad in the background. The plain saw lead in this section is a bit too plain for my liking, too.
  • The breakbeat used throughout the track is a bit unusual, sounds a little clean and dry. OK, it's not an overused Amen break but you could have put some distortion and/or bitcrusher on it.
  • The TB-303 sound is a bit annoying in the intro.
  • The overall structure of the track follows the conventions, good DJ friendly material.

That's it from me I guess, all in all a very decent first release, looking forward to your new tracks!

Scott Brown's earlier tracks? Are you aware how long Scott Brown has been producing?

Indeed I'm not, I stand corrected.
