Hey guys im new to Dj-ing , and i have had my pioneer equipment for about 1 month now and i freaking love it. My set up is 2 pioneer CDJ 400 and a DJM 400 with Behringer headphones. I am from southern California USA. I have 3 mixes so far but no youtube videos yet cause i need to get a camera. Im just put this all out here to get my self known, and if anyone has tips or suggestions feel free to say it or IM/mail ([email protected]) me on aim at DjRinzo. I dont have a face book or anything yet cause like i said i have only been Dj-ing for a month. Yea im not gona put the track lists cause im a noob plus you guys are hardcore junkies, and my first mix is probably my best and still my absolute favorite. Just also wanted to say thanks to Cotts for recommending the CDJ400s and DJM400.
also post something if the mixes get over 10 downloads an i make a new link

first let me say, welcome to the hardcore scene!!! Glad to have another American who loves hardcore.

only had a chance to listen to you first mix, overall, it was "ok" for a first mix. you have only been doing this a month, from what u stated. dont get discouraged, its all about getting better.

couple of quick questions:
1. are you using some sort of mixing program? (serato, torq, traktor)
2. are you using unmixed tracks?

over the beat matching was not bad, the mixing technique needs some work. what it sounded like u did was beat match the tracks and then just bring the one's volume up and the second one's down. (this kinda depends if you are using mix or unmixed tracks.)

let me know

i was using unmixed tracks and yes at the time i wasnt using the cross fader i was just bringing thew volume up. No i am not using any sort of software just my 2 CDj 400s and DJM 400. I dont really know the first thing about making a mix besides beat matching, am i supposed to listen to the tracks one by one first until i get to know them or what cause all the mixes i did were pretty much free lance. i also know that matching the right key usually makes the mix better.

sorry to get back so late, dont use windows movie maker for anything, overall it pretty much....sucks.
I use audacity, its free, easy, and great quality.

as far as your other comment about the crossfader, use the crossfader to "mix" between the tracks, i know that sounds obvious, but dont use the up faders (the ones that control the sound) make sure you have the crossfader curve set on a smooth curve. As far as listening to the tracks, its always good to know ur music. the better you know it, the better u will know where to mix in. From what i heard, it sounded like u were bringing in the one track into another right in the middle of melody. All i can say is keep practicing and your comment about keys is also correct, just focus on getting mix technique down first, then worry about harmonic mixing later....like way later, i have been DJing Hardcore for about 2 years and i have just started learning harmonic mixing.

Here is a link to my demo:

ENJOY!!!
