Hello!
Hixxy's RB and JB label has been selling for about 18 months now, but
conflicting opinions have been expressed concerning its general style. What sort of dance style do you think the new labels are producing?

Definetly trancey, but it seems thats what hardcore is all about nowadays.
Would Tommy Kirkwood, and Lynne come to the surge tent out front immediately, this is proper urgent.

I wouldn't call it happy freeform because freeform relates more to the hard house/NRG side of hardcore. As of Breeze, Styles, and UFO's solo work on the labels have the happy trancy sound. Hixxy & UFO's (or just Hixxy alone) work sounds more like Makina, but not as cheesy.

It's Alright, but a lil to slow, in some songs there's not enough happening, unless UFO helps make it, and i realy don't like Hixxy's Pussy kick drum.
I Personally think that alot of the new Blatent Beats stuff is better buy far, caus it's fast, hard, and maby even intence, in anycase it's deffinatly my style.

Hmmm, well let's just say it's not myfavourite of labels. sure trancy HHC is good but i find just some of the new tunes on this label don't have enought thought in them, and i absolutely hate the drum beat . It sounds like a thud or thump rather than a boom and bang as it should ( in my opinion) . i'm still looking forward to the remixes of different hardcore classics , though mainly just to see what they sound like , they'd have to be something special for me to purchase for i havent been very impressed so far with exceptions such as : wanting to get high rmx , Dreams , deep inside UFO rmx , thats all i can think of at themoment ....

couldn't agree more. although i still like some of the tunes, they would be class with a decent kick drum sound. i find i often won't put in a new hixxy tune into a set because of it, which is a shame.
and yes sometimes the songs are a bit one-dimensional.
as for style, i would say it represents the new-style SPED-UP TRANCE happy hardcore. it's not done too badly but the idea is getting a bit tired.

the rb tunes good to listen to but i couldn't mix with a lot of them,all coz of that kickdrum. the peak of the drum is a bit later than your usual kick so it makes it sound a bit late. when it comes to mixing with them, you have to either cue the track so the kickdrum is in time with the other track and have everything else out of time,or have it where you normally hold your mix and it sounds like double-beating. you can't win either way,it makes you sound like you're crap at mixing when you drop one of those tunes in and i can't be doing with it
