Making his first San Francisco appearance in over 4 years!! His last event here was Happy Together 3 in September 2004!!
Hixxy is from Portsmouth, UK and his DJ roots can be found with an obsession for US Hip Hop and Rap and watching DMC Championship Videos. In the early 90s when Rave culture was sweeping the UK, Hixxy got caught up in the tide. He met up with Ramos, Supreme and Sunset
Regime and started playing out across the south coast of the UK. In 1992 he met DJ Dougal at Dreamscape and a ledgendry partnership was born, soon they created their own label... Essential Platinum. Hixxy's big production break came in 1995 when he released, with the
then MC Sharkey... "Toytown", a massive hit. The tune was released by React Records and Hixxy had made a name for himself. In 1996 Hixxy released his first Album.. the Massive Bonkers series was born, the third installment went silver and was the biggest selling
Hardcore series ever. Hixxy has released many tracks under the monikers of Yum-Yi, OMG and Antisocial (along with Sunset Regime) including "Tantric", "Devastated Motivated", "R U Ready", "Rushins", "Just Accept It", "Nothing", "My Way", "Get Into Love", "Forever" and
"Wanting To Get High" just to name a few. He is also responsible for the ultra popular HTID, HTID in the Sun and Raverbaby events which attract thousands of people at every event. Hixxy is known for his uplifting, melodic and energetic mixes. We are proud to bring the
#1 Happy Hardcore DJ in the world to San Francisco!!
Starting her DJ journey in the 1990’s San Francisco underground, Forest Green continues to explore the art of rocking the dance floor and mastering the mix. 11 years later, she continues taking things to the next level, amazing crowds with her high energy, hot bass
lines, and soul gripping grooves. Expect to hear only the freshest jamz as she searches high and low for the most cutting edge, floor shaking, booty quaking EDM the world has to offer - and brings it straight to you!
Forest is a featured DJ in the popular indie film GROOVE. GROOVE was accepted to the prestigious Sundance Film Festival in 2000, and was the first film bought that year by Sony Picture Classics. Groove is an independent feature film based on one night in the San
Francisco Underground Rave Scene back in the early 1990s.
She is excited to be working on her own electronic music production, sometimes under the name Forest Green, and sometimes under the name Cute Things With Fangs on Cute Fang Recordings. Her most recent original music productions will debut this summer, bringing her back
to Europe, Asia, and all over North America.
Forest has played at many internationally recognized clubs and venues such as WMF (Berlin), The Paradiso (Amsterdam), The Golden Pudel Klub (Hamburg), Flex (Vienna), The Level (Kuala Lumpur), Yeni Melek Gösteri Merkezi (Istanbul) as well as huge international festivals
such as The Pohoda Festival (Trencin, Slovakia) and The WORMweb Equalizer!fest (Rotterdam) and continues to rock the dance floor.
With over 20 years of combined musical experience, the artists that make up Quadrant bring the best of each of their abilities to the table, and the results are phenomenal.
Leigh Caplan (Texel) began playing the piano at the age of six. By the age of 10 he was writing music and completed a string quintet by the age of 12. At 18 Texel started producing electronic music and had a release on Seattle based Ornj Plus Recordings shortly
thereafter. Since then, he's absorbed every bit of information he's learned about production and has put it to good use. He combines his musical acumen with an equally extensive technical background to ensure Quadrant's tunes are engineered as well as they are written.
Daniel Pollard (Cyanide) was brought up on variegated sorts of music. It was Drum and Bass that led him into his musical career. Cyanide picked up DJing in 1999 and, in less than a year, gained ground headlining events all over southeast US, becoming a resident at
Savannah, Georgia's only Drum and Bass weekly. At 17 he broke into producing while still frequently touring the United States and Canada. His wide scope of musical influences, both mainstream and esoteric, serve as constant inspiration; not many artists can claim equal
exposure to Dirty South, Post Punk, and all manner of electronic music.
The city of Philadelphia provided fertile ground for Quadrant's diverse range of creative output (Cyanide is now in Atlanta; Texel resides in Seattle). The bass resonating from their third floor studio on any given night was proof of the amount of dedication to
dissecting, analyzing, and reassembling musical compositions. In 2005 they appeared on two releases for the UK-based Drum and Bass label Renegade Hardware and in February 2006 Manipulated Living served on the Carpe Diem album sampler. "My Beautiful Liar" also made an
appearance on the Fear No Evil LP. They produced two tracks on Mental Sharp's album, "Above the Beats and Below the Bass," and worked closely with Chuck Treece on a remix of Leiana's "Talk."
Over the last two years, Quadrant have released primarily on the venerable Dutch label, Citrus Recordings, dropping both "Only Mortal"/"Hell Can Wait" (featuring DStar) and "Blood on our Hands"/"Rage & Rapture" (featuring fellow Seattle resident Cease) in 2007. Next up
for Quadrant is another huge Citrus release, "Built for War" (feat. Cease)/"Mascara", plus "Whisper" which is slated for the next album on Fokuz Recordings.
Not content to be confined to the studio environment, both members of Quadrant are a force to be reckoned with behind the decks, and are widely known for meticulously mixed sets which place equal emphases on dance floor energy and emotional depth.
With several projects and collaborations on the immediate horizion, the future looks bright for Quadrant. Kristina Sky
Kristina Sky discovered Dance Music at the age of 16 when she began
attending underground parties in Los Angeles. It wasn't very long before she
went from attending these events, to organizing and throwing them. Sky threw
commercial and underground events from the ages of 17-22. Her events took
her following all over Southern California from Santa Barbara to L.A. to San
Bernardino to the Mojave Desert.
After years of throwing parties, managing local DJs and being a dance music
fanatic, Kristina Sky realized that she wanted to start becoming a DJ
instead of just booking and managing them.
She was given a pair of old decks by her boyfriend and started collecting
vinyl- the rest is history.
In early 2002, Kristina Sky was booked to play her first event and the
response was very positive. More bookings followed as a result and her small
following began to take shape. Since then Kristina has been pounding her
style of euphoric, melodic, driving, epic trance and chugging progressive,
into the heads of Dance Music Lovers all over the world.
She held her residency at Club Heaven, Hollywood since a month after it
opened in early 2004 and has played alongside some of the greatest and
biggest names in Trance such as Johan Gielen, Blank & Jones, Solarstone,
Rank-1, Jan Johnston, Nu-Nrg, Kyau vs Albert, 4 Strings, Ronski Speed, Mark
Norman, Motorcycle, Dave Dresden, Second Sun, Ian Van Dahl, Cosmic Gate,
Filo & Peri, Menno de Jong and the list goes on.
In Summer 2005, Kristina picked up a new residency with XM Satellite Radio's
'Lost Episode' Clubnights, alongside talented DJ and Lost Episode Host,
Victor Dinaire. Lost Episode puts on quality club nights in Los Angeles and
San Diego, at various venues like Avalon (Hollywood), 4th and B (San Diego)
etc... where Kristina plays alongside Top 100 DJs like Ferry Corsten (#5),
Paul Oakenfold (#11), and Andy Moor (#46) to name a few.
She is also rotating resident on Victor Dinaire's Lost Episode Radio show on
XM Satellite (over 7 million subscribers) and is a regular featured artist
on Dinaire's Resident Nation on Music Choice (broadcast to over 30 million
homes in America).
Kristina continues to maintain a 4 year-running residency on www.etn.fm, one
of the biggest and most respected Trance and Progressive online radio
stations in the world, where regulars from all over, tune in to hear the
latest and greatest in trance and progressive, interpreted by Kristina Sky,
during her current mix show series - ³Kristina Sky Presents... Trancelate²
She has just been made an Official Resident DJ for Spundae (Voted #1
Promoter @ 2006 IDMA and #37 Club in the World by Mixmag), after playing
countless shows and cultivating a massive L.A. following, while she is
already confirmed to play a handful of big shows before Summer 2006,
including a huge debut performance at Coachella, one of the biggest music
festivals in the North America, in Dallas, Texas, and several dates in
China. She has also had other international offers to play in Canada,
Germany, Holland and the UK to name a few.
Kristina finally makes her way into the studio this year, finishing off her
first monster of a remix with Randy Boyer of EnMass [EnMass- CQ (Seek You)
(Randy Boyer & Kristina Sky 2006 Remix)], which will be signed to Armin Van
Buuren's own ŒA State of Trance record label, set to be released sometime
in the Fall. She already has other collaborations in the works, so expect
the CQ remix to be only a taste of what's to come.
Kristina Sky has undoubtedly developed a very loyal following that
appreciates her passion and energetic performances. This following is what
fuels her to keep playing.
Bottom line, whether it is a warm-up set for a major headliner or playing a
peak time slot, Kristina Sky is ready to rock the dancefloor and get the
crowd moving.
Her mission is clear: to play the tracks that clubbers want to hear and to
give clubber's the opportunity to see and interact with an exciting act that
will set them up for the ultimate nightclubbing experience.
Half of what people love about Kristina Sky is her live performance. She is truly a people's DJ and is something you can't really understand til you see for yourself. Although we do have some videos that have been sent to us and have included them below, as they give a great idea of the kind of DJ she is, and how the crowd interacts with her and reacts to her sets.
