Sorry northants, but MC does stand for master of ceremonies. Mic controller is just slang dog, and just because some mc's said it was mic controller, dosnt mean its mic controller.
I also agree that gangsta rap is indeed crap. But the oldskool hip-hop is tight. I also listen to a lil bit of trip-hop and intelligent hip-hop that isnt all about killin members of the opposite gang, or recording label, or whatever they do now, but its all about extensive vocabulary. Thats the shit. I started gettin into the music biz through hip-hop matter of fact. MC Soopa Doopa was my name, Spiting rymes was my game.

get a couple of your bros together on a nice day, have one bust out a beat (not with his feet, but with vocal shizz), then just start flowin...............and if thats too difficult at first, have a bro start pointing at shit and you ryme about it ( the same method Snoop dogg and Dr. Dre became so good), trust me, it works. After a while, you can spit some decent shit!
Just don't be like drum n bass MC's, they just ruin the songs (if thats possible)

for all but a few mc's i call it Master of Crap
cos most of them are
We have MC's who do our events who are good
and storm, Oddesy, Marley + ethos.. and of course sharkey
are pretty much the only mc's (ive heard.. aint heard mr dizla yet :D)

Robbie Dee said 'Welcome to the hardcore seminar' but i didn't think I was at college, Zarlon your spot on!! an MC should add to the Music not the Hype, They should know when to shut up and when to roar!! Dat's my style I love some mc's, others are larger boys that like the attention but don't deserve it cos they are crap!! You don't have to rap but some of it is as good if not better. Glad we have Garage now so all those wannabe rappers and mumblers can sod off over there.
