Ok, I am sure lots of HHC DJs out there have been slagged for spinning the type of music that they do at least once in their lives, and why? Because HHC is cheesy of course. But that's why I love it. It's purposefully cheesy and happy, not like some of the crap wannabe trance and crap wannabe house tracks that are trying to be cool but end up cheesy.
Anyway, I have a friend that is both a DJ and amateur house producer who tells me HHC is crap, not only because of the cheese, but because the production of HHC requires less talent, equipment, innovation yada yada yada then other styles of electronica. Now, I know nothing about production, so I can only give him the benefit of the doubt. I am willing to accept that HHC takes less effort to make, and I'll still love it, but how much truth is there to this? Anybody know anything about electronica production that could honestly tell me how much talent it takes to make HHC?

well if he was listening to some of those trancier tunes that have been going on then yes he would be correct =P
have him sit down and listen to some releases on kniteforce, some of the earlier ones. some of those have to be some of the most brilliant pieces of music (next to classical) that i've ever heard.
then in the other hand, he'll probably have this built up in his mind that all music associated w/ hardcore is crap and will already have a biased opinion =P

tell you what, go on the evolution records site, find the pictures of the studio, print them off and show them him, then we'll see how little talent and equipment it requires. *muhahahahaha*
