Don't the decks already have cartridges?

If not, what's missing?

If you got them second hand without carts then well, pretty much any cart will fit if I'm not mistaken. What you choose depends totally on your style, and what you use them for, and how much your prepared to spend. Stanton 500s are the usuals shipped with alot of decks, but I'm nt a fan. Ortofon make some nice, reasonably priced ones, in fact I am considering getting some Concords - although it would be a waste of money at the mo as I never get time to touch my decks at the mo.

If you do any scratching then you'd be better off getting some dedicated scratch carts. They all vary and its a trade off usually between sound quality and how they hold to the groove.
