You're probably right about the 15 year olds who haven't paid for it. it's simply cause it's too expensive for them and they probably don't have enough experience to make a hit record, so why would they bother investing 400€ in something they're (probably) never going to use professionally?

I think that you're wrong about your statement that only the pros would be willing to pay for the software they use.
Alot of people buy software once they can afford it. Besides pros, single people with a job and a burning interest in music fall into this category.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure not many teens have the money for a 400€ sequencer.

You are absolutely right, not many 15 year olds can afford using 400€. Thats why there are cheaper programs like FL out there, or free ones like Buzz, but they, for some reason often say they have like 5+ programs, when they would be better of learning one e.g. FL properly :)

For example, how many use Photoshop? I'm guessing loads, yet its shit expensive, it has loads of features that regular people just dont need. Thats why i bought Paint Shop Pro 9, it was about 7 times cheaper and does everything i need. Only diffrence is, its much easier to use :p Yet these young people assume they have to pay 800€ for a program just to do simple things? And cause they cant afford that, they think its justifyed to download it illegally? I mean if you just started to play violin, would you go to a store and buy the most expensive Stradivarius?

The iMac's usually come with a one button mouse, "right-click" in those is CTRL+Mouse button. But e.g. PowerMac's should come with a proper mouse. But yea, e.g. many logitech mouses can be used in a Mac too, so that shouldnt be a big problem to change it.

Mighty Mouse pwnz you.

quote:
Touch-sensitive top shell
It looks and feels like a sleek one-button mouse, but Mighty Mouse's smooth top shell hides a powerful secret: touch-sensitive technology under the shell detects which part of the mouse you're clicking, so you can both left-click and right-click. And if you prefer the simplicity of a classic one-button mouse, Mighty Mouse is up to the task. Just use the Mac OS X Tiger system preference pane to configure it how you want.

Best of all it can be used with a PC for those who don't yet know the beauty of a Mac

Pfft, optical is so yeasterday. My laser mouse is much better :p

"Featuring the Logitech MX™ Laser Engine, the MX1000 delivers a new pinnacle of performance no optical mouse can match. With an incredible 20x more sensitivity to surface detail—or tracking power—than optical, laser can track reliably even on tricky polished or wood-grain surfaces."

Though it can be used in a mac too.

I use Reason 3, i can put a beat together etc, but it gets to a point where i just dont know where to go with the music and what to do with it. so i bought a midi keyboard...hmmm, i cant play keybord lol.

im now trying out the new Cubase, fruity loops and orion, i need help on all of them. i can use bits of them all.

i have downloaded 3GB of video tutorials for cubase so hopefully that will help, i think it will.

its really hard, learning from scratch i think, and none of my m8s are in to music production so im on my own :( lol.
