Hi. I'm collaborating with a House producer here in the states to make some hardcore. He's an excellent producer and has had a number of records pressed here. Thing is, we're not sure about how to get a record pressed over there across the pond.

Assuming the audio quality of a track is good enough, how easy is it to get a well known label over there to acept a track, add it to their release queue, and press it?

How do I go about submitting a track to a label like Slammin or Nu Energy? Do they just take anything from anyone, or will they only accept tracks from well known producers?

My partner here acutally gets requests to do remixes, so he doesnt need to shop around here for a label. But we're both new to producing hardcore for someone across the pond. How would we submit a track...to multiple labels, in low quality, and then when they agree to produce it we send them the high quality version? How does this work?

Finally, how often do tracks that get submitted by labels endup on CDs that are mass released? It looks like there are tons of people here who produce, but how many of the songs that people make here end up on vynil?

Just some curious questions...thank you kindly...

Another suggestion would be to get a digital release out on an independant "digital label" of your own. Then, you can make moolah right away off of digital downloads, and then eventually have a vinyl "real label" pick up your song.

Having never released a track myself, I would assume that this would at least be something to think about. Seems smart, anyway :)

Hey, well it isn't too hard, your track just needs to be good and fit the style of the label. a lot of producers will give you feedback as well. go to the label websites, their e-mails are typically listed there or direct you where to send your stuff to. and it seems like a lot of releases now go on cds before hitting vinyl in an effort to help sales.
