do any reason users add any effects to rex files? I have trouble getting them to fit with redrum tracks, the redrum always seems louder. I've been using redrum for kicks and cymbals and doing the rest of the percussion in dr rex.

are you talking about adding effects while in recycle or adding effects while in reason?

turn down the master level on the redrum sequencer. each drum has its own individual level. you can also try using the m class compressor to give the rex files more punch if you are using reason 3.
remember that each instrument has its own master level, then it goes to the mixer which has a level for each channel and then there is the master level on the mixer for the entire track so there are a bunch of ways to tweak the volume of each instrument.
hope that helps
