Has anyone here used Final Scratch before? I was reading about it and it seems really good and useful. I wouldn't have to worry about lugging around cds but then you run the risk of the hard drive crashing. So I am kind of in a stand still right now. So what to you guys think $800 for Final Scratch or just grab me some CDJs? I would use it just for mixing purposes since well I am at good at scratching as I am tall. I am 5'3 by the way

final scratch 2 is pretty good (alot better than the first). with final scratch (or any program like it) you have to have a laptop (or something portable) to play at a party. kind of a bitch to connect everything at a party when you can barely see.
scratching w/ final scratch you need to make sure the loops are set up otherwise you'll be scratching dead air =P

You've obviously never lugged a packed crate of vinyl around all night.
I would still much prefer bringing a CD wallet and playing as opposed to hauling a laptop in and having to set up everything (like BK said). You're going to need a diesel laptop for Final Scratch, as I hear it is notorious for overworking computers.

It was a joke clarke, I can't scratch for **** and I am short lol.
I have a laptop but it is only 800 MHZ P 3 256 MB RAM, So it would possibly work but Probably be extremely slow, but an $800 for a alright laptop should do the trick. So $800 for FS and $800 for a laptop should be just about as much as 2 Quailty CDJs. I am gonna put Traktor onto my laptop tonight and see how it runs. it should run like if I had FS on it.

Bare Minimum: Windows XP, Pentium III/Athlon 1GHz, 256MB RAM
Strongly Recommended: Windows XP, Pentium IV/Athlon XP 2GHz, 512MB RAM
You'll also need an IEEE 1394 (FireWire) port.
I'm sure that you can find Final Scratch for less than $800 somewhere. $600 is about the average price that I've seen around.

Unfortunately I have. I have 2 crates like that with about 50 records in each. After carrying them about 2 blocks I felt like my arms were going to come off.
My only gripe with vinyl is that it is so damn expensive. $10 for 2 songs or I can get the same songs for $4 on IMOdownload.com. So in the long run getting a FS and a laptop would save me loads of money.
