help with padsin reason

any one got advice on creating pads in reason. im having trouble creating my own and none of the preset or refill ones, seem to fit in my tunes. Any advice on pads in reason would b great cheers!

Hmm,This applies really in any synth.

Depends what type of pads you are after.

Typical Trance Pad.

In Malstrom

use a sawtooth*16, and turn the motion up a bit. Detune it.
Have the cutoff on the filter high on a low pass filter if you want a real heavy trance feel.

Make sure the release is high along with the sustain and decay and go a bit with the attack as well.

Add some nice reverb and delay and it will now be starting to make some shape.Use the unison on Reason but dont over do it and it will start adding more width .

Next Turn on Oscilator 2 and have the octave lower than the above and try out what I stated from above.Tamper with it until your happy with the sound.

Just some pointers on the way I go about making pads.

Will write a proper tutorial on pads when I get the Chance.
