Iam finally stepping forward more with Djing I started to play trance more now. I DJ hardcore and I did exclusively for the little time I have been Djing but just playing hardcore all the time isn't fun for me when I love everything else. Now to the point. How do you guys like I should go about playing sets since there is such a HUGE range of trance. I was thinking slow begining, build up, slow down again, then quick build up. Kind of like Melodic into Progressive into upbeat type trance into full blow out high synth energy trance and then backwards again. Do you think this would be a nice crowd pleaser or just stick to one style a set? Iam trying to expand my styles to everything and I think trance is a nice start since it is so broad.

The only reason I do it is because all of your posts seem to be about the same thing... we all know your opinions on how the music is going, give it a rest! :p

Your a fanny he's talkin about trance i.e think beautiful melodies, intense trippy vocals, floatin about godskitchen - gatecrasher etc not sped up scouse bounce. do you even no what trance is?

Kryptic mate i'd jus keep buyin whatever trance you like in all diff styles, jus make sure every tune's a must have.
From there you'll be able to vary your sets depending on moods, but from mypoint of view i'd definitely get some of the slow, chilled out end of night uplifting trance as there's nothing better after a hard nights ravin.

I absolutely love trance as music and a scene, the parties are immense but for some reason i dont really like mixing it. Think it's cos with hardcore and makina especially havin so much stuff happenin for cutting in and out, the trance style of long blending in two diff tracks seems a bit dull. I still buy some trance i like for listening to aswell though.

All best mate hopefully hear one of your mixes after you get some practice.

Thanks Baldo. I finally got a change to take a little shopping spree over at dancerecords.com and I should be a getting a bunch of trance within the next couple weeks but the hardcore mix is coming up first. I have the set just need to record it. So hopefully within a month I'll have a mix up somewhere. Thanks again Baldo. What happened to Raver Baby that everyone hates it? I always liked Raver Baby. Did they make something that completely sucked?

Naah, it is just 95_was_the_time has something against the Upfront Hardcore. It is just him (and some others) that "hates" raver baby. So don't mind him.

As for trance records I got:

Flip and Fill - Irish Blue
Future Breeze - Out of the Blue
Stereo Star - Utopia
Ultrabeats - Pretty Green Eyes
Ferry Corsten - Punk
And a couple others that I can't remember off hand. I got a couple hard dance and Recon - Insane to add to the collection. And I have:

DJ Tiesto- Love Comes Again
Dave 202 and Phil Green - Trance Night Anthem 05 (One of the best anthem tunes out there)
So as of right now Still not a lot of trance but I get my credit card in a few weeks and I still have checks to cash. It is will a nice couple weeks for dancerecords.com from me. They better give me another "Vinyl Friendly" sticker like they did last time.

And the hardcore mix ill be up before Nov. 18. Because I go to Florida for 4 months on an intership. I am bringing my decks down with me and raise some hell and hopefully start to play some clubs down there and rock the techno scene down there which is basically non existent there.

Utopia and out of the blue are progressive trance. That is the only I can see that people would say it is something else like house. But yea the rest are definentaly trance. A couple more record orders of trance and Iam gonna see what I can do with them.

Pretty green eyes definitaly isn't trance, it's euro dance, or scouse house depending where you're from...

Well I guess you could say that. I never really got the real differences of trance and eurodance. My view is: If it bangs I am there.
