A friend of mine wanted tips on how to make their kicks more bassy, like what would be heard well into a track, and I gave as much advice to them as I could, but apparently he's not getting it. I usually lowpass a 909, and add a 3xOSC underneath each hit, but apparently that's to complicated to him to understand. he wants to make kicks both in regular hardcore, and gabba. I dont have much experience in producing gabba, so I couldnt help him.

He also wanted to know more about how to make clean and good hardcore basslines, but I gave up, since I myself am mostly self taught. Can someone help him out?

use distortion/overdrive on kicks to get that gabber sound
as for adding bass to your kick well i would have thought this was self explanatory E.Q.

there are some good hardcore and gabber kicks on my website in our sample downloads
we also have accapella if you are intrested

thanks, I appriciate the link and post. Maybe that can point him in the right direction. I told him about eq'ing his kicks properly, but I think he just wants the kick sound that like Brisk or Hixxy uses, a standard dance kick with some punch. As I said, I told him just to layer kicks, and to use a Wave Hammer (as that usually achieves the sound for me) but as I said, I guess it is to complicated for him. ohh well, thanks for your help anyhow :)
