Sound Forge (now owned by Sony) or Wavelab (Steinberg) would be perfect :)

Adobe Audition (was cool edit) or even Audacity.
Audacity is open source and free. It may help prevent any piracy [:P]

I use Creative Wave Studio since it came with my soundcard, Creative Audigy 2 ZS (great gaming card btw)
free for me, easy to use
all i do with my recorded music is chop it up and normalize it anyways
