go for directdrive never ever go for belt drive they cant keep the beatmatching but if its just 2 listen on then you can use them but NOT FOR DJING
technics are good or the best but are also some of the more expencive ones...

If you can't afford the technics, go for a cheaper setup (which is what I got and am happy with it, but not too cheap) Some say Numarks aren't very good, but their turntables are pretty good, and I own a pair of tt-200's. Your mixer you might want more quality and you may want to pay a bit more, it will be worth it.
You don't want to buy a cheap mixer, then when you start getting good, stuff starts to wear out, so go for a good mixer. I have a numark dxm-06, it still works like new except for the crossfader which is starting to bleed a bit sometimes. Pioneer, Rane, Vestax are all good, and there are many out there.
Just go out to a music store, look around, and try out different stuff.

I'll sell you a pair of Numark TT-100s
(Numark TT-100s professional direct drive turntables are in good condition. Weighing in at 10.3 it's heavier than the Vestrax PDX-2000 making this deck pretty sturdy and is finished in a nice black gloss paint. features include forward / reverse buttons. 33 , 45 and 78rpm. Quartz lock. If you find plus 10% pitch range is not enough holding down the quartz lock button for three seconds expands it to plus 20%. Starting torque of over 1kg-cm and flutter at <0.13% w.r.m.s.)

i had belt drives for 2 years and was mixing demos and gettin gigs lol .. so thats ******** .. if ya learn on belts u;ll be a better dj going onto technics

yea maybee they can but they should use much time on helping it becours it dosent keep the pitch/tempo as precise as a direct!

If you don't have the money and want to get started, go for belts. You can still DJ on them, its possible. I actually have belts now...I don't have a job and I go to school so it's pretty hard. So, whatever you want is cool.
