I brought a discount drum and bass cd pack from this year and its the first time I have brough one since helter skelter's nightlife.
But I was very dissopointed to find that it all sounded the same and none of the DJ's really stood out. Esp when the same tracks are played but all the different people.
What I ask is the new comparing to the D'n'B of old, does any body else think that it has lost its orignality and have the DJ's lost personality. BTW I was a huge fan of Micky Finn and Rush Hour.
I also hate the way the MC insist on reloads when the DJ has done a good mix as its spoils the flow but thats another story.

so since it was the nye event it was supposed to be awesome? maybe they figured most everyone out there is going to be f*cked up and they won't knowtice if we all play the same tunes.
in 2002 most the productions sounded almost exactly like productions from 4 years earlier.

lol. Listening to it I know what u mean. How come that the D'n'B scene is so popula as in they always get room one at large multi genre events like helter skelter or slammin' ?

yeah, concord dawn is definetley talented when it comes to producing quality dnb. John b describes his kind of dnb to be "electro-pop-dnb". Me like.

I don't like the current stuff that much, most of it is TOO repetitive. I like the old style dnb.
And as for the mc's calling for rewinds - do they have to reload every frickin' tune? I thought DJ's were supposed to keep the music flowing continously without interruptions?!?!?!?
